The Alpha's Bride:Love is a curse

It was a windy night and I was running in a thick forest. I didn't know the reason for my flight but I ran and ran as though something or someone was chasing me. Then I reached a tree, I stood for a while resting.I heard a strange voice behind me"You can't run away from me, You can't run too far because I would always find you..." I felt an invisible hand pressing my neck from behind almost choking me to death. "No .... I can't take this anymore. It's either I escape now or die in the hands of that... I paused not certain if it was right to mention it. I was determined to run away , I wanted to avoid the miserable life that awaits me tomorrow. I reasoned and clutched my ready bag. In no time I was in my backyard, I was quite good at sneaking. I threw the bag to the other side of the fence , it was high but I had arranged a wooden ladder for this particular day . I was careful not to make nice so as not to attract guards or anyone to hear it. I ran as quickly as I could and I was soon outside the walls of the palace. My cage. The rain had stopped suddenly, the breeze cool and refreshing. This was just what I wanted. Freedom. I stood for a while, it felt strange leaving my home for the first time since I was born but I had to run away. I walked quickly and found a bush path, I followed the road . I didn't have a particular place in mind but I just had to keep going. Suddenly I heard the trouble bell, Damn someone must have alerted the guards that I was missing. "Winter" She was my personal maid. "What should I do?" I panicked. My stomach sank at the thought of what my father would do to me. I stood at the spot, many thoughts on my mind. I fell to the ground and waited for the guards to catch up with me. They took me back to the palace and to my father's chamber. I received a hot slap across my face making me see the stars . I looked down avoiding his dangerous gaze. My father was a weak Alpha, infact the weakest I have ever seen. "Show mercy" I pleaded angrily. "Worthless piece of trash, you tried to run away few hours to your wedding. What do you want people to think? "My father's voice was loud. " I don't want to leave this palace"I defended. " Shut up, you don't have a choice. At least you should be happy that for once you are useful" " Father, Please show her mercy"Isabella spoke. I shot her a cold glare, she was one of my elder sister who hated me and couldn't wait to get rid of me. My father loved all his daughters except me. My father relaxed back on the chair. He cared so much about his reputation that he gave me out as peace offering to the King of Goblea to end the disputes that have existed between both kingdoms. Goblea was more civilized and advanced than our kingdom. It was the best among five kingdoms and most feared. No other Kingdom could dare wage a war against them. Their pack was well secured and guarded. They occupied more territories than other kingdoms. "Go back to your room. Tomorrow is a big day, you have to rest well" "Father" I repeated. ''Go back this instant before I lock you up in the dungeon"He shouted harshly. " Sure father"I said and got up. I returned back to my residence weeping sadly. Winter knelt down in front of me" Punish me"She fell on her knees. " Its of no use. Stand up"I continued crying. " I can't bear to see you marry a monster"She looked at me. " It's okay I will accept my fate" "What are you going to do?" She asked, her face wearing a sad look. I let out a sad sigh"I would accept my fate since my father don't care about me. I promise to make him regret every action he took today. I would pay him back in double folds and he would come begging me in pains" I swore and I must keep this promise. ~~~~~~~~THE D-DAY ~~~~~~~~~. " Selena" " Selena'' I heard my name and opened my weak and swollen. I saw Isabella standing beside my bed. "Wake up" She announced with a silly smile. "What's your problem?" I replied. I knew she couldn't wait to get rid of me. "Today is your wedding, so get up. A day I would never forget. What a pity!" She said giving me a smiling face. "It's fine" "Not all of us are lucky to be married off to monsters" "Pest" She smiled and walked out. "Goodmorning princess" Some maids came in. I remembered my decision the previous night so I just gave in. I stared at my face in the mirror in front of me as the maids dressed me. I hated make-up and the ornaments used to dress my hair was too heavy. I could not move my head around. Diamond earrings dropped from my ears. My lips were red. I hated that color. " You look beautiful"Winter exclaimed. I ignored her comment. My father closely followed by two of his wives walked in with some guards and maids behind them. He nodded in satisfaction" Be good" Isabella walked to where I was seated with a small box. " Father, allow me to present my gift to my little sister" My father smiled" That's so kind of you. You see, Isabella has a good heart" " Here" I reluctantly took the box and opened it. It was a Jade hairpin. " Thank you" A guard rushed in to announce that the groom and his family had arrived. " Good"My father said and walked away. I gave winter the box to keep it. The hairpin was only befitting to servants and not princesses" " She just insulted you"Winter said " It's fine"
