“Maya???” She called out skeptically.
“Yes..” I muttered.
“How??” She asked softly, her voice shaky.
“Well, miracles happen you know,” I answered, smiling regardless of the pain I was in.
“Wait!!!!” She yelled. “You’re alive? You’re f*****g alive? OMG!!! It’s real. Am I dreaming? Hey you there, slap me,” she yelled at someone in the background, and the next instant, a resounding slap echoed from the speaker.
“f**k!!! I didn’t mean that hard,” she yelled and Brenda broke into rolls of laughter.
“I’m on my way. Stay there, do not go anywhere.” She yelled.
“Thought you just said you were working?” Brenda teased.
“Screw the work, this is more important,” she said hanging up.
