My friends were probably the best thing to happen to me in the couple of years I've attended high school; it seemed as though nothing else had gone right except for them and Jackson was the one that held us all together. That's partially the reason we all ended up in Ms. Erendale's Ancient Mythology class in the first place.
Jackson has always been interested in mythical creatures, learning about the old stories and folklore. One year he dressed up as a sasquatch for Halloween when we were in grade 9. We wound up at our first high school party ever, and well... let's just say Jack had a little too much to drink that night because after a while he started banging on his chest, making gorilla noises and proceeded to run around the streets doing banshee calls. He's never been able to live that one down. So, you get the picture.
Some of us met in grade 9 in Mr. Anderson's AP English class, who is by far the best teacher I have ever had. Colton and Jackson had been best friends since elementary school and Coltan had been dating Natasha since the eighth grade, which seems crazy but they're always making each other insanely happy. They're a cute couple, minus the PDA at the lockers, bleachers, bathrooms, and oh boy, you get the point here.
Natasha and I had been best friends since the first day of high school, we met in science class. We really hated that class, and it was the mutual hate for science that brought us together. The four of us seemed to click as a group instantly, we all shared similar interests, although we have a fair share of differences I couldn't ask for better people to be in my life.
Then Eliza came along, she was the odd one out. In grade 10 she was the new girl from Tennessee but no one ever bothered to know her, they were too intimidated by her looks and every girl was jealous, mostly because she's insanely gorgeous but she also has the sweetest, softest southern accent you would have ever heard. We ended up being in the same dance class outside of school and I got to know her pretty well, soon we became good friends, in a matter of time she became the fifth member of our group.

I sat in English class tapping my pencil on my desk staring off into the distance.
"Ms. Rose, would you like to read us the next line of Hamlet please." My teacher called out as she gave me a stern look.
I couldn't help but be distracted by my thoughts and the dream I had last night has been haunting the back of my mind more then it usually has in the past. I couldn't seem to stop thinking about it. Every time the pain felt so real, I always woke up gasping for air. I really should be focusing on school, and my grades considering it is my last year here. Thank god.
"To read, or not to read? That is the question." I said out loud. I smirked and laughed to myself as I opened the book that sat before me on my desk.
I might as well have fun while im here.
The class began to laugh but the teacher didn't look too impressed. I chuckled as I flipped to a random page in the book, I had no idea what part of the story we were at but I attempted to read a random paragraph anyway:
“To die, to sleep -
To sleep, perchance to dream - ay, there's the rub,
For in this sleep of death what dreams may come...”
As I finished reading a shiver sent down my spine, the hairs stood up on my arms. I tried to shake off the thought of sleeping, especially dreaming, but the word death lingered on in the back of my mind with a feeling I just can't shake.

Time passes quickly and soon the day was finally over, in a short matter of time I'd be heading home and packing my bags to go to Crystal Lake Island.....and awaiting an early morning with an 8-hour flight.
Oh yes, Totally my idea of fun.
I roll my eyes as I pack my binder away into my bag. The final bell rang and I bolted to my locker, almost knocking over my chair on the way out of class. I print down the hall shoving past all the kids in the hallway. Jackson was waiting at my locker. He gave me a reassuring smile, he knew how much I hated large crowds of people.
"Hey, Jack!" I smiled at him.
He stood there with his arms crossed just so that I could see his muscular biceps pressed up against his chest. My hearts beating a million times faster, his smile will be the death of me someday.
"Hey Em, want a ride home?" He asked.
I grabbed my books out of my locker and tossed them into my bag. I looked at him and gave him a nod as I grabbed his arm as we began to walk.
"Please, that would be wonderful. I'd hate to walk in this weather, it's so hot." I emphasized the word hot because really, it was one of the hottest days of the year.
"Alright, alright" he laughed as he swung his keys in a little circle around his index finger.
"You know me and my curly hair, one step outside and it's a red frizz ball." I laughed "You really should have seen me on the bus this morning!"
He laughed at me and gave me a pearly white smile that showed off his handsome dimples that lined the side of his face. I couldn't help but blush as we walked to his truck. Four years of being friends and I still couldn't help but blush.
