A Story of Betrayal and Deception
A grand party was held at the Luis family residence, celebrating the wedding of Santos Luis and Margareta.
“Congratulations!” Mike Miland shook Luis’s hand – his cousin.
Next to Mike stood a beautiful woman in a sexy dress, Barbie! Barbie held Mike’s arm. She gave Santos a fake smile and offered her congratulations. After a few words with the newlyweds, Barbie excused herself from Mike to get some fresh air.
“This party is so boring! I hate this situation!” Barbie muttered, adjusting her dress to quicken her pace. She looked around, searching for a place to escape Mike. “By getting away from Mike, those stupid guards won’t be able to find me because this party is so crowded. And Mike! That controlling man, he won’t destroy this grand party just to find me! What if I use this opportunity to run away from him forever?” Barbie felt happy, a wide smile spread across her face.
That night, Barbie left Mike Miland. She not only left him at the party, but she also left behind the luxurious life and the bond of their marriage.
After Santos’s wedding, Mike began frantically searching for his wife.
“Where did Barbie go! That woman! How dare she cause trouble at such an important event.” He grumbled, pacing outside the building. The event was over, and he wanted to return home with Barbie. But the woman he was looking for was nowhere to be found. Mike was furious.
Mike had always restricted Barbie’s actions. He did this because Barbie, his beloved wife, was a public figure. She was incredibly beautiful, and Mike spoiled her. He would never let Barbie take a single step away from him.
But his actions to protect Barbie were completely contrary to her desires. Barbie was a lover of freedom. Of course, she felt incredibly oppressed in her marriage to Mike Miland.
“Guards!” Mike shouted to the guards who always accompanied his family.
A group of people immediately ran towards him, ready to receive his orders.
“Ready to execute orders!” The guards shouted in unison.
“Find Barbie! Bring that woman to me! Now!” He commanded in a loud voice.
After an hour passed, the guards Mike had ordered to find his wife returned empty-handed!
Mike was even angrier. From that day forward, he decided to find a replacement for his wife as soon as possible.
After a week passed, Mike tried to remain calm and continued his work as the plantation owner. Today, he visited his business partner. There, he walked around the plantation. Because the plantation had difficult paths, Mike accidentally slipped and fell.
“Argghhh!” Mike yelped, sitting down and holding his bleeding right leg.
Out of all the workers present, only one woman dared to approach him. She immediately helped Mike.
“Sir! Let me help you.” The woman removed her belt and used the fabric to bandage the wound on Mike Miland’s right leg.
Mike was silent, observing the young woman who was bandaging his injured leg. The clothes she wore were wrinkled and worn. From her appearance, Mike knew that the woman standing with him was just a plantation worker. Somehow, a wicked idea popped into his head!
“What if I bring this woman home with me? I need to find a replacement for Barbie! I don’t want to be ridiculed in public! Mike, the wealthy man, lost his beloved wife! This is a nightmare for me!”
“What’s your name?” Mike asked her.
“Yuvrelina Marie.” Yuvrelina answered, her head bowed.
“Help me get to your master’s residence!” He ordered Yuvrelina.
Without waiting for a second command, Yuvrelina helped Mike stand up and then supported him as they walked towards the residence of the plantation owner where she worked.
Yuvrelina didn’t know that the man she was helping was Mike Miland. The man who would bring endless misfortune into her life. Once they reached the residence, Yuvrelina quickly bid farewell to Mike to return to her work, which had been delayed.
“Sir, I’ll go back to the plantation.”
Mike just nodded with a sly smile. Yuvrelina swallowed her own saliva. Somehow, the look in Mike’s eyes that she saw at that moment seemed like a bad omen for her!
“Mike? What happened to your leg?” Exclaimed a man who had just come out of the residence.
“Ah, this? I slipped on the plantation path. Who is that woman?” He asked Jon, the plantation owner.
“Don’t pretend, I can guess you already know her name.” Jon laughed, helping Mike sit on the porch chair. Jon poured a drink into a glass and gave it to him.
“Yuvrelina Marie! Send her to work on my plantation!” He shouted, placing a blank check on the table.
“You never change! Mike Miland! Hahaha!” Jon accepted it, then kissed the check.

The next day, Yuvrelina was immediately called by Jon to appear at his residence.
“What is it, Sir, that you called me for?” Yuvrelina asked, placing her basket beside her. She stood, bowing before Jon.
“I hear your mother-in-law is sick? Here’s money for her treatment.” Jon handed Yuvrelina a thick envelope. Indeed, that was Yuvrelina’s goal in working on Jon’s plantation, to earn money for her mother-in-law’s treatment at the hospital.
“Thank you, Sir.” Yuvrelina immediately reached out to receive the envelope without hesitation, but Jon moved his hand back. Yuvrelina was shocked.
“I’ll give you this money, with one condition!” Jon whispered, looking left and right.
“What is it, Sir?” She asked with an innocent look.
Jon took out a business card and gave it to her along with the envelope.
“Go to that address, he asked me to hire you for his plantation. The money also comes from him. I’m sure you’re a woman who knows how to repay kindness, Yuvrelina. And if I get a report that you’re not willing to go to him, then I’ll take the money back. You won’t be able to take your mother-in-law to the hospital.” Jon said, lighting his cigarette and blowing the smoke into the air.
Yuvrelina nodded, “I will definitely go, Sir!” she replied with confidence.
