Chapter one This is not my Home
I was born a werewolf; my mother has always told me that the wolves of our shewolf come closer to us 6 months before we turn 19. Because we are more mature than the boys in our pack. Boys of the silver moon pack don't get their wolves till their 25 since they will be more mature at that age.
While I'm in my thoughts about everything, there comes a knock at my door. Knock Knock. "Who is it?" I asked with confusion. No answer came to the door, so I asked again "Hello...who is it" as I rolled out of bed to head towards the door. Still no answer.
I opened the door slowly, followed by the door pushing itself open fast as I fell to the floor "oofff". When I looked up, rubbing my head from the door hitting me. As I am being trampled by a girl with long pink and black hair, a well built body as she's screaming at me "OH MY GOD I MISSES YOU SO MUCH". I'm still confused about who I was just trampled by. Then I saw her face, as I was overrun by emotions.
"Madie... how... when..." I stuttered. Madison has been my best friend since we were pups, but when she turned 19 eight months ago, we were out at the club to celebrate her birthday when she got up and started to run. I tried to follow her but I wasn't fast enough since I had yet to meet my wolf. She tackled this tall and very handsome man and said "MATE '' in a deep Wolfie voice. The man turned to look at her and said "MATE" also in a deep manly wolfie voice. They were inseparable for the rest of the night...well, actually since then. But the next morning after the club, Madison came to talk to me. She told me that she had found her mate; his name was Max; and that they were leaving to go back to his pack to complete their mate bond and that she would move there with Max.
I was so upset when she left. She was my best friend, almost like a sister to me. However, I understand why she had to leave. Max was the beta to his Alpha of the Dark Moon pack. She looks at me. "You really thought I was going to leave all the fun to you?" I look at her with confusion on my face. As she begins to burst out laughing, "You really forgot how long it takes to plan a coming of age party...Didn't you?"as her face starts to smirk at me because she knows I have.
"Well, if you must know, yes I have. I've been far too busy figuring out why my wolf hasn't spoken to me yet. My birthday is five months away and still nothing and I'm supposed to travel to surrounding packs to see if I can find my mate since my mom is the luna of our pack." with disappointment in my voice. Madie looked confused and was about to say something till we heard a knock at the door. Knock knock. "Roni, honey are you awake?" I replied "yes" as my mother walked into my room.
"Oh, Madison, I'm so excited you were able to make it. We missed you. How's the little one?" my mother said with excitement in her voice. "Sam is great Luna. But I feel like a milk machine" Maddie says jokingly with a smirk on her face. "I guess that's what a two-month-old baby is like. From what our pack doctor says". My mother gave Madison a disapproving face. "How many times have I told you to call me Jane. No need for formality with family, you are just as much of my daughter as Roni."
Soon after Madie left with Max for the Dark Moon pack, they found out they were expecting. I was so thrilled when she called me to ask if I would be Sam's godmother. Then six months passed and Sam was there. Us wolves are only 6 months pregnant, while humans have to carry for 9 months. I wasn't able to meet Sam because my stepfather, Steve, wouldn't let me leave because it's unsafe for Alpha's daughter to be traveling as he says. I've tried to tell him countless times I'm not an Alpha's blood daughter.
Steve adopted me when he found his fated mate; my mom. I was only about 4 at the time, but when my mom laid eyes on Steve she knew he was her mate. Then, shortly after they completed the mate bond, the pack recognized my mom as their Luna, since my step-dad was their Alpha. Then my brother Junior came along and not long after him, Luther came. My step-dad loved being a father to his boys. Nevertheless, always be strict with me. I have always felt indifferent to my brother's, since I'm not Steve's daughter. My mom doesn't talk about it much. From what I know is that my mom and my dad were chosen mates, but my dad never marked my mom when I was conceived. Soon after I was born, my dad walked out on us. Mom said she never knew why.
I wish I could know why he left and where he went, because this pack has never felt like home. Since everyone treats me differently. People at school tell me I've always been unwanted, that they don't want to associate with me. Once it comes to my brothers, everyone bows to them, to mom and Steve. They smirk at me like I'm not worth the recognition... I hear fingers snapping. Snap Snap
"Earth to Roni... Hello" Madie says, concerning. I shook my head, snapping myself back to reality. "Did you hear anything we said?" I looked at her with a blank look on my face. As my mother chimes in, "Oh well. Maddie, you can catch her up about the trip during breakfast. Everyone is waiting downstairs for us. After you two eat, you guys can come back here to change. Could you help Roni pack a bag, then you guys can head out. Oliva and Bradshaw will accompany you on your trip." Madie nods to my mother. "Yes. I can do that. Do you mind if we make a stop by the mall before we head out? I think Roni needs some new clothes to make her stand out as we travel to the packs." My mother gave us a assuring nod as she walked out of the room. Madie has a big smile on her face as she pulls out a pair of jeans and a black v-neck shirt and my converse for me to wear. "This shirt will show off your goods" as she gives me a grinning face. I rolled my eyes at her and changed. Our stomachs start to growl " I think we had better head down". We ran downstairs to the mess hall.
As we get closer, we hear lots of commotion. It was all muffled till we entered the room. "Why is it a big deal, it's not like she is Alpha by blood" "Who does she think she is?" "She'll never be anything". One thing after the next is coming out of pack members' mouths. Suddenly, people start to realize I'm in the room and the chatter comes to a slow stand still. Everyone is staring at me and whispering as me and Madie take our seats at the head table with my family.
Alpha Steve stands up and the room becomes quiet. "Good morning Silver Moon pack members" he says with a stern voice. "Good morning Alpha '' everyone says simultaneously. "As many of you know, my daughter Roni, will be turning 19 soon. I want to give her the best coming of age party. We brought Madison, a former member of the Silver Moon pack, to help with preparation for Roni's big day. Even though Roni isn't my biological daughter, that doesn't mean she's not my daughter." Many snickers come from the pack house. "And she deserves the best. By the time Roni comes home on the night of her birthday, I want everything perfect. I also want to say to my daughter." He looked at me with a big smile " I hope you have a safe but exciting trip. I hope it's full of laughter and smiles. I love you Roni. You will always be my little girl." I gave a small smile as I rolled my eyes. Because I know he doesn't mean it. He's always been mean and hit me growing.
As the time went along, Madie was telling me all the stops we had to make and how long we would have to be at each pack. In the back of my mind I heard a whin. I looked around trying to see where it came from. But I brush it off not knowing the origin of where the whin came from. Soon after breakfast, we ran up to my room and packed a couple of bags for our trip. I looked at Madie with a concerning look. "Are you sure we need all of this?" I questioned. She snapped her head around so fast I thought she broke her neck. It was so funny that I started to laugh. "YES! We need it all. We are gone for 5 months. How else do you think you'll find your mate?" she said seriously. I rolled my eyes at her, still laughing. "Yeah, okay, whatever you say."
An hour later, "Okay I think we have everything... wait. Do you have any toys you want to bring with you?" she said. I looked at her with my eyes wide. "What the hell? You know I got rid of them 10 years ago. Why the F**k would I have them now? Why would I want to bring them with me?" I said concerningly. She takes one look at me and busts out laughing, barely able to breath. "Not those kind of toy's dummy". I'm confused. As she says with a grinning face, "s*x toys. You know vibrators, dildos, pocket p*****s, lube. Kinky toys. Those kinds of toys." she winks at me. All I can say is "What" as my jaw drops. Then it hits her "Oh my god you don't have any. Do you?" "No, and why would you own those?" I said. She's now explaining to me about why you need them and how much it turns on your mate when you play with them during s*x. Then she starts going on about her and Max playing with toys. "He loves it when I f**k myself with my vibrating dildo. And..." I cut her off. "No no no please stop. I don't need to know what you guys do with them." Madie adds, "Well, I guess it's good we are going to the mall. We can stop at 'Wet Drips' then and get.you some stuff." We are interrupted by a loud knock on the door.
"Yes", I said "Come in". Oliva and Bradshaw came in smiling. "Are you ready to go, Roni?" Oliva said. I shook my head. Yes, as Bradshaw spoke up, "Well, great your mother is on her way to see you out. She asked us to come get your bags". Madie jumped up from the chair she was sitting on with excitement. "That's great. We were worried how we were going to get them to the car" as she gestured towards the pile of bags and suitcases. Oliva and Bradshaw looked at one another in astonishment at the pile in front of them. "Don't worry, I'll help you get them to the car" Madie insisted. As she grabs some bags, "Roni, I'll see you downstairs. We got to hurry if we are going to make it to the mall before they close" "See you soon". Upon Madie, Oliva and Bradshaw exiting the door with their hands full of bags, the door opens. There stood my mom holding the door open as each of them walked by and said "Thank you Luna" and proceeded to the car.
"Roni, I think we need to talk before you leave" she said with a concerned look as she came to sit next to me on the edge of my bed. "What's up mom?" I said. She hands me an envelope. "What's this?" My mom sighs "Its some of the answers you've been looking for. Someone dropped it off at the gate this morning." She took a deep breath "It's about your father.." before she could say anything else, I ripped open the envelope containing a letter. I looked at her before reading it in my head..
'Dear Luna Jane of the Silver Moon pack, I have found evidence of Roni's father and why he had to leave. He goes by Will and he's doing good for his position. Many call him Alpha Will. I am unsure of what pack he is from, but your daughter is not just a daughter of a Luna, she's also a daughter of an Alpha, making her an Alpha blood decent...."
Before I could read more, I spilt my glass of water on the letter, smearing the last half of the letter. I looked at my mother confused. "Wait. W..hat" I stuttered to say to my mother. As she lowers her head down in disappointment with herself
"But your mate. He isn't my birth father, so how could this be possible." "I'm not sure honey" my mother said. "Alpha's can't have children with people who are not their mates. It's never happened before. The moon goddess made sure Alpha couldn't have half-pure breed descendants, to keep peace in the territories''
Before my mother could say another word. Madie barges in the door. "Come on Roni. We... oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt" as she could see something was wrong. My mother spoke up "No you're fine, we were just finishing up. Roni dear, I'll get to the bottom of this before you come home. I love you so much. Just keep this between you and me for now, okay?" "Yes ma'am". I stuffed the letter in my bag and headed downstairs to the car when Steve stopped me. "Oliva and Bradshaw are going to look after you two during your trip. Rouges are becoming a bigger problem with random attacks. I heard your going to the mall. Take this and consider it a birthday present." as he hands me a credit card and hugs me. Did he actually just hug me? He's never hugged me. Maybe he knows about the letter. "Thank you Steve" I say as we get in the car and Bradshaw closes the door for us.
