2: Plans In Motion

Kiara I didn’t recognize this alpha king from my past life, but as soon as I was let in to see him, I explained my predicament to him. I left everything about me going back in time out of the whole explanation because I was certain he’d think I had some loose screws up there. Once I was done with the explanation, I was breathing hard and felt so much pity and anger for myself. However, I was shocked by the king’s words. “I won’t be helping you.” “What?” I blurted as I gaped at him as he rose to his feet and began to head for the door. “Do you have proof of all that you’ve said so far?” He asked and I floundered. “No, but I’m certain I’d have that before two days when the party would take place.” I explained but the alpha king was already opening the door. “To be honest, I don’t believe you. I feel like you’re lying to probably betray your mate or something.” I frowned at him, feeling anger start to churn inside of me. “I’m telling the truth here!” “Well, I don’t believe you. Now, you’re dismissed.” He waited till I walked out of the room, then the door closed behind me. I was beyond dejected as I left the palace. I had arrived here very hopeful. I’ve barely gotten anything done in my plan for revenge and I’ve already hit a wall. How convenient. ~~~ Two days later I stood by the side of the stage, watching as everyone around me partied hard. Everyone was gathered to celebrate with my mate and myself. If only they knew that everyone around me actually hated me. Disgust churned in my stomach as I watched Gregg boop Nina’s nose before spinning her around while she giggled. I used to think they were a cute duo, and it always made me happy that my mate and younger sister got together so well. I had no idea they’ve been rolling between the sheets this whole time. “You alright, honey?” My mother’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts and I had to force a smile on as I turned to face her. I never could have believed that my mother could be in on the whole thing. But one thing was clear enough, she wasn’t my biological mother. That should explain why she also backstabbed me. No real mother would do that to their child, and this theory also made sense because I was the only pure blooded person in my family. But, if this woman wasn’t my birth mother, how did I end up in her care? Where is my real family? “Yes, mum. Just tired.” I finally responded and she hummed in understanding before kissing my cheek and urging me to try having fun in the rest of the party. After she left, I was about to go get a drink when Gregg pulled me into his arms. I had to suppress a groan. “You’ve not been yourself of late, my love.” He began softly and I forced myself to appear shocked. “I haven’t?” I asked and he nodded. “You’ve been distant. You don’t cling to me every night, or during the day. You don’t randomly hug or kiss me. You haven’t told me you love me in two days, and you usually do that about a hundred times a day. What’s wrong?” As he asked those questions, I realized just how much I was in love with him, way more than he ever was in love with me. And that’s a big IF. I was the one always saying the L word first. I really used to cling to him because I loved him so much and sometimes felt like I couldn’t breathe without him. Basically, I’ve been such a lovesick fool, and of course he noticed the difference in my attitude now. I was no longer clueless, and I now know the monster he hid underneath a facade the whole time. “I’ve just been stressed.” I mumbled in response, feeling anger brew in my mind on remembering what I was carrying in my pocket right now. It was recordings of him and my younger sister f*****g. In just two days, I managed to get over four different recordings. Apparently whenever I was away, all he and my younger sister did was to f**k all over the house like rabbits. Well, tonight I was going to expose them. I was beyond heartbroken that the pack alpha king hadn’t agreed to help me, because he was supposed to be here tonight, in case my mate refused to reject me after I revealed his dirty linens. He wasn’t present, so I was a little skeptical about still carrying out my plan. But I’ll end up doing it anyway. Goddess help me. “I was thinking we could start trying for a child tonigh–” Gregg began to speak just as one of the security officers Gregg hired for this party interrupted us. “The alpha king’s stand-in is here!” My heart instantly skipped. Gregg was grinning at the security after practically shoving me away. “To see me, right? Oh my, what an honor!” He exclaimed happily. “No, Sir. He asked for your wife. He’s waiting for her in the compound.” ~~~ The Alpha was in the compound when I arrived there. Gregg had demanded why the Alpha had wanted to see me, and I had feigned cluelessness. He wanted to accompany but the royal guards didn’t let him through. When I came across the same tall, menacing man I met two days ago, the first thing I said was that I didn’t know he wasn’t the actual alpha king but a stand-in. That definitely explains why I didn’t recognize him from my past life. “Well, do you expect the king to be able to see everyone? He’s a busy man. However, I’m here tonight because I had a rethink. Do you have proof of your mate’s infidelity? I nodded and quickly handed the recordings to him. He hummed after quickly confirming my claims, then he said I was a really smart woman before handing the recordings back to me. “So, you’ll help me tonight, right?” I asked and he nodded, pocketing his hands. “Yes, but not for free.” I frowned. “What do you want in return?” “I’ve not decided yet, but I’ll reveal it once I’m certain.” He revealed and I deflated. “But I can’t agree to what I don’t know, that would be stupid of me.” He arched a brow and turned around to start leaving. “Your choice then.” “Wait!” I called out after he took two steps. I was conflicted. I don’t want to agree to something that I might regret, but I also can’t afford for this opportunity to slip from my grip. “What ever you’ll ask for in return would be in my power, right?” I asked and he nodded after turning back around. “Of course,” I gawked on my bottom lip for a moment before nodding. “Alright, fine. Let’s do it.” I finally gave in. He made me sign a contract first, before accompanying me back into the party, where havoc was gonna be getting wrecked in right now.
