13; get out

: Kiara’s POV: Leave? He has to be f*****g kidding me. I planted my feet firmly in the ground and met his eyes. “I am not going anywhere without my share of everything. You emptied my f*****g bank account! You left absolutely nothing to me. Leave? I’m not going anywhere till I get it all back.” He arched a dark brow. The look in his eyes made my skin crawl and made me want to bury myself in a hole at the same time. “I’ve always wondered this, how f*****g stupid are you?” he gently pried my sister’s hand off his arm and stepped closer to me. Each step was like a warning, telling me to step back. I inhaled shakily and squarely met his gaze. He looked down at me like I was a cockroach squashed on the side of the street. “Back the f**k away from me.” I hissed, hating how shaky my voice sounded. He paused. And it wasn’t my feeble threat that caused it. “the very moment you tried to outsmart me, that was when you sealed your fate. You thought you could embarrass me? In this lifetime? You should have thought twice before you f*****g stole from me and changed all my passwords.” A bitter laugh clawed out of my throat. I ran my fingers through my hair, tugging on a few tangles. “Do you even hear yourself right now? You f****d my sister, Gregg! I stole from you?! Hell no! I took what was rightfully mine!” They exchanged a glance. The crowd began to disperse, slowly. I waited for something, maybe a look of remorse on either of their faces. Instead I saw nothing. She walked up to him, and he put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her to his side. “And yet you were too dumb to keep it. Get lost, you’re ruining this festive atmosphere with your pitiful appearance.” I shook my head like a mad woman. This cannot be happening right now. There’s no way I’d have the same rotten ass luck in this lifetime too. “No, Gregg. I’m not leaving.” His eyes flashed in annoyance. He wasn’t even trying to beg me like the last time. The look in his eyes was one of victory and scorn directed at me. Even though I was reborn, things weren’t going as planned. Nothing is how I had expected it. Did I offend someone in my past life or what? “For goodness sake,” my sister gasped. I turned to her, not sparing my anger. Her eyes scanned me from top to bottom. She sneered and rolled her eyes. “Aren’t you honestly embarrassed? Look at you, shaming yourself for the whole room to see. Have some dignity for heaven’s sake.” “You’re one to talk about dignity when you literally--” “What? Had a good time? Really, you’re going to stoop that low huh?” The audacity on this b***h! “How dare you speak to me about shame?! You’re the one who should have some shame. Look at you, perching on his arm so boldly after that video. Aren’t you ashamed, huh?” Gregg burst out laughing. My sister smiled, like she knew something that I didn’t. “What Video?” Gregg asked, wiping imaginary tears from his eyes. "The one you tried to blackmail me with? That one?" "What ..what have you done?" "Why I took care of it of course. You'd be surprised how easy it is to take something off every corner of the internet, if you know what to do, that is." My cheeks heated. At my sides, my hands balled into fists. He noticed this and his eyes narrowed mockingly. "That's not all though. Everyone who has the video has deleted it. My security team personally made sure of it. I'm sorry my dear, it didn't go viral as you wanted." His words cut through my heart like a dagger made of acid. What? This is a bad dream. I'll wake up and I'll be in that beast cage and I'll go back to the hotel and everything I need will be right there. It can't be! Gregg laughed again. She joined him. Their voices undulated and distorted, like a sound out of horror film. The horrible realisation that it was all for nothing hit me like a truck. Everything. Begging the alpha king's stand in for help. The beast cage. Everything I had done, was all in vain. Hot tears stung the back of my eyes, my throat turned bitter and constricted hard. I blinked back the angry tears. The last thing I wanted was to let them see me crying. "How could you do this to me?" I whispered, my lip wobbling and my voice trembling. "How could you hurt me this way? You're my sister. And you...." My sister rolled her eyes. "Oh please, quit the pity party. Why? I can't even be bothered to formulate a response for you." "Darling," Gregg said to her, "it's alright. Let me handle this. You can leave now." "Huh?" "Judging from everything, she has found a way to break our bond. That's sad, I had hoped to do it myself." He said, a fake pitiful look came to his eyes. "I don't even need to do anything at all. You'll come back begging." Vomit rose in my throat. "Begging?" He shrugged. "You have nothing. No name, no mate, no money, nothing." "That's because you took it all!" I exploded. "Yes, I know I did. But it's fine. I'm a merciful man. When you come back, know that I will be willing to accept you with open arms." I blinked incredulously at him. This must be a fever dream. Yes. This is worse than a f*****g nightmare. "Oh come on! Don't give me that look. You know you'll always be the one I love. Sure maybe I may cheat on you, once, twice. Or more. It doesn't mean anything.”
