The Commoner

I worked in small cafe just 5 minutes away from my apartment. 20 dollar a day is not a bad salary for an independent women who live in a small apartment like me. I am just focusing on saving money to continue my studies. becoming a registered nurse and help people in need is my first priority. "Good Morning, Bailey!" I greeted my boss as I entered the cafe at 6am. "Good morning, Ar! too early today huh!" She responded with a huge smile on her face. Bailey is the nicest person that I've ever known for the rest of my life aside from mum and dad, of course. I worked for her for 7 months now since I had to stop my studies. The Cafe opens for public at exactly 8:30am but I reported earlier for the preparation. Just like me, Bailey is also living alone but the difference is that she has siblings. she inherited the cafe from her parents that's why she cant give up this even though she already had other businesses. Since it is sunday today, Bailey stayed here for the entire day, talking with me if there's no customer. "Anyway, Ari. I wanted to invite you to my aunt's wedding next week. it is not faraway from here. just maybe 7 to 8 hours drive. Come with me, okay!" Bailey Said in serious tone of her voice. "Oh wow! Okay, ma'am. I'll go with you." I said. I actually wanted to make an excuse but I cant refused this pretty face of hers everytime she invited me to go with her. Plus, I have nothing to do at home so I decided to just explore the world while I am free. Cause when the time comes that I will able to go back go school, it's gonna be a very busy life. "Stop Calling me Ma'am. I know im your boss here but that doesn't mean you have to call me that. you already agreed to be friend with me, right?" She said tapping my shoulder. I just smiled and nod at her as a response. I really dont want people pity me that's why I ran away from my home town, 14 hours drive away from here, 7 months ago after my parents died in a horrific accident while returning home from work while I am busy at school. With my parents gone, I cant live alone on the same roof where we are spending a happy and wonderful life. I cant move on from my loss. I am an only child and they cared and loved me for my 19th year of existence. they never failed to show their love for me. When I loss them, I loss my world. I had the house but I don't have a home. I had the money but I cant buy a new parents. I decided to ran away from that city because every corner of the city reminds me of my beloved mum and dad. When I first came here, I know nothing. I tried to roam around this small city and saw the sign board on Happy Cafe that they are hiring a staff. I decided to apply and the very own Bailey the owner accepted me right away. and now we're friends. and I am glad that I had found a friend here. I have a trust issue on people well of course now a days it's hard to trust people. "It's time for me to go home, bailey! bye!" at 4pm I said goodbye to bailey and head out of the cafe. I walked to my apartment and at exactly 5 minutes I reached my destination. I let myself rest a little while, read a book, ate my dinner and went to sleep. well, that's my routine. I don't go out for parties even my parents is still with me cause I am just focusing on studies which I have to give up a little while i am saving up. I don't want to spent my parents' money anymore. or maybe now I want it to remained intact as my memory for them. I didn't ran away from that city because I wanted to forget them, I ran away because I wanted to start my own adventure, living my life, learning new things so they don't have to worry about me and they can also continue they're life above there together. and when we see each other again, I have a lot of story to tell them. It's monday, A busy day for others but not in Happy cafe. I don't know why it is name Happy cause if I am the owner I wont be happy for only 10 to 15 customer per day. Well, I cant blame Bailey for still holding this cafe, it's from her parents and If i were in her place I will do the same too. I wont trade for any wealth in the world the only thing that holding a memory of my parents. "Ari, let's go out at 2. let buy dresses for the wedding. will be leaving here tomorrow. my aunt wanted to rush her wedding to friday." she exclaimed the moment she entered the cafe. "why in a rush, did something happened? did her groom do something?" I said. "The groom wanted the ceremony earlier caused she cant wait to spent his life with her forever." She muttered. "Oh he must be really inlove with you aunt." "Yep, He is indeed. They're inlove with each other actually." She giggled. Well, I am excited to attend the wedding. I really adore those kind of Love. Just like the love of my parents to each other. I miss them. Bailey noticed my expression and she turned to me. "what's with that expression?" She asked. "It's nothing, I am just thinking about something." I said. I didn't tell bailey my life story yet. When she asked me I just said that I am orphan. that's all and she didn't dig any deeper.
