Chapter 11: Hiding

While walking back to the crowd, we enjoy teasing each other with the kids along the way.

My eyes pointed at someone that looks familiar. He's standing with 4 male under the tree that is decorated with lantern, seems like they're having a not so important conversation.

"Whose the name of that guy?" I stopped walking and asked luke. He looked at the direction where I am looking and said

"Whose guy are you referring to?"

"The one wearing black hat." I answered back

"Gabriel DaVien. Why? Do know---"

"Luke, can I trust you?" I cut him off.

"Of course, Ari. Just tell what it is.." He said and turned to the kids, "Hey, kiddo. can you go back to your aunt? I just need to clear something and dont tell them about it okay." He said with a voice that you should obey whatever he is saying. Harry grab his little sister's hands and walked toward where their aunt sitting.

"So, how can I help you my princess?"

"Lucas jake, tell me honestly. Can I really trust you?" I asked again.

"You can trust me with all your heart and I will protect you at all cost."

"That's too much. we're not even that closed for you to protect me. I just need to you to help me to get back to my room without anyone notices it and if someone ask where I am please make an excuse for me."

"Why? I mean why all of a sudden, do you know gabriel? What did he do to you before?"

"Yes I knew him and he shouldn't see me especially here. He's not an ordinary--"

"Then your room is not the best hiding place if that's the case. I'll bring you to the mansion you'll hide in my room that's the safest way. I wont stay there dont worry, I'll come back to the party right away for one condition--"

"Whatever it is.....Let's go, now." I cut him off. we are both glancing at the direction where Gabriel standing.

Lucky that I am wearing a flat sandals and it is easy for me to walk faster. We were silent throughout the walk since luke instructed me not to make any noise.

After like 15 mins walk, we reached the mansion. nobody is here since all the resident here attended morreth's wedding. We quickly entered the house and went right away to elevator up to 4th floor where Luke's room is located.

"By the way, I like it when you called me Lucas Jake..." He broke the silent trying to mimic my voice while at the elevator. His smile is the most sincere smile that I've ever seen aside from dad's smile when he's exchanging joke with mum. I look at him trying to say something but I remember that I owe my life to him tonight.

"Thank you for tonight. I owe you one." I said instead.

"It's my duty." He said and paused when the elevator stopped. "We're here. This entire floor is mine. It is built with a strong protection that nobody can ever break it. It used to be dad's room but since he's getting older and I am his first born male, he passed it to me." He said and open the knob to a room. "This is my room. If you cant sleep and get bored there's a mini theatre here. You can watch or Play..." His bedsheet is mint blue designed with a moon and stars paired with curtain. And there's a painting of a group of wolf at the wall. The furniture inside is an ancient middle eastern style. It is look like a room of a royal. Oh maybe, he's a prince of this town that's why everyone is respecting them because they're belong to royal. I went inside the mini theatre that he is referring to and there's a lot of album from different artist."Ari, can you tell me, how did you know Gabriel?" He asked suddenly.

"I used to work as a part time associate in a company, my boss asked me to attend one of the company's meeting. And unfortunately, he was there too. That's the first time he saw me but he got interested in me. I dont know but he looks dangerous and I dont feel safe when he's around. I told my boss about it and from that day onwards, my boss didn't allow me to attend any business meeting anymore. My boss cut the ties with them and it bring outrage from their side since they cant find an investor like my boss. They threatened to hunt and kidnap me but he's not gonna kill me. He'll marry me and let me serve them for as long as I am alive." I said trying not to disclose that my boss is my father.

"DaVieenn."Luke said in a clenching voice while turning his back from me.

"I've been hiding from them since I was 16." I paused."Anyway, how do you each other, are your family that closed that he's invited in Morreth wedding?"

"He came from Morreth's husband's side but we knew them a long ago. They are good in manipulating human."

"Yeah, maybe that's why they are not even afraid of the Law."

"They are Lawless creature.." He said raising his fist trying to punch the wall but I ran quickly to his side and hold his arms."Hey, never let their attitude affect you. and sorry if I have to tell you this. This shouldn't affect your relationship with them." I said.

Luke inhaled deeply and after a few moments he was calm.

"Sorry for acting like that. dont worry as long as you're under my care, nothings gonna happen to you. they can never touch even a single hair of you. I will protect you whatever it cost. And the condition that I am telling you about earlier--"

"Yeah, I remember that and I said whatever it is. So you can tell me about that tomorrow. let's wait if Gabriel cannot find me tonight." I snapped

"Okay, deal. But remember that I will never let him find you even if there's no condition." He said cheerfully."Oh, are you gonna sleep with that outfit on?" He continued pointing to my dress.

"I am not gonna sleep here tonight. I'll wait till everyone is done partying and i'll go back to bailey's house."

"Nope. that's not necessary. Good rest and sleep can result to good health, sooo you have to sleep. I have a new tops and boxer here, you can used it for the night." He said while grabbing something inside his wooden ancient drawer."Then, I have to go back to the party coz they might need my presence. If you get scared, just think about me."He said grinning.

"So, can I sleep in your bed, just in case?"

"The bed is all yours."

"Thanks a lot luke."

"Okay, bye for now."Luke said heading to the door and I headed to the mini theatre. I search for a good movie and go to his ref to find something to eat. I got the chips and add a note 'Have to take your chips. buy you one tom. thanks a lot.'

I opened the movie and started watching. However, after a few minutes I feel sleepy and I dont have the urge to fight it since I was also tired the entire day.
