Chapter 10: Wedding

It's 5:30. As usual I woke up early. I went to bathroom to perform my morning routine. I did my morning exercise, let myself cool down and took a shower then headed downstairs. Everyone is still asleep. I went to the kitchen to get some coffee and I was startled to see someone inside. It's luke. What is he doing here in the early morning.

"Hey, morning!" I said awkwardly.

"Morning, morning person! how's your sleep?"

"It's find. still having a dream. I wonder how to get rid of this." I paused and then asked "Want some coffee?"

"Nope." He said and handed me a steak.

"I am not a fan of meat but I like steak, chicken breast veggies and fishes. These are the list of diet that I grew up with." I dont know but I felt comfortable having a conversation with him now. It feels good when I talked about my life back in Millwood when my parents still alive.

"Health conscious. There's a gym at the back of our house. you can go there anytime if you want to stressed out."

I shrugged my shoulder and put a steak in my mouth.

Wont be able to go there since bailey and I will leave tomorrow morning back to Algona but I didn't say it out loud. Luke sat at chair opposite to me, just looking at my direction with his hand under his chin.

"What? Are you not gonna eat with me?"

"You just invited me."

"Wwhat? you're the one who cook and I should invite you? plus this is not even my house--"

"Morning guys. What are you two fighting in the early morning?" Kim appear out of nowhere.

"She didnt invite me to eat with her."

I gestured him a 'dont try to embarrass me'

"Good for you, boy." Kim said teasing him, she sat beside me and get the plate of steak. "Ari, tell him to cook again."She continued and I laughed.

"Hey, did you guys slept here last night?"

"Yeah, we finished decorating at 3 am. By the way, we'll gonna have a barbeque party tomorrow evening." It's kim who answered since luke has to cook another piece of steak.

"Oh my.. You guys didn't wake me so I can help--"

"There's no need for you to help. There's a lot of people helping." Luke answer. His voice is strong enough to silent me.

"Morning, guys.You woke up too early. where are the others?" Now bailey just jumped inside the kitchen wearing a training pants and tops.

"Still sleeping." Kim said.

"Let's wake them up... We need to prepare as early as possible." Bailey said "By the way Ari, sorry to inform you but we cant go back to Algona tomorrow. My nephew is still not feeling well. you know, on and off fever. I have to stick by my sister's side for now." Bailey continued

"Oh, its okay bails. Is there a train here going to Algona?"

"No, even if there's a train it's not safe to ride." Luke answered but I didn't mind to look at him.

"You can stay here with us for awhile. No need to worry. if you have an important things back in apartment, I can asked someone to look after them." Bailey said with a 'very sorry' on her face.

"No, nothing important but I have other important matters to do in Algona. and I cant tell about it."

Well, Im quite disappointed. I really need to go back to Algona within this week. We have a meeting with Atom, dad's lawyer. I asked him a favor to get me car from my savings when I am still working with dad and I cant move that saving without lawyers help coz if someone investigate my whereabout and they happen to involved the bank, they will know my location right away. So I have to get a car in the name of Lawyer Atom Reynold. What have I done for my life to be messed up like this.

Well, it is also my dad's last wish our driver told me. Hide as much as I can if I find someone is trying to marry me or trying to get involved in my life when they're gone with mum.

I shook my head with the thought, I tried to relax and Luke spoke."Ari, if there's anything that you need just tell me--"

"I really need to go back to Algona within the week." I said hoping that he'll say 'I'll give you a ride.'

"We can get things settled if it's within my power." He said instead.

"Let's focus first on the wedding." I cheerfully said.

"Yeah, and the barbeque party." Kim answered.

We finished the breakfast. I go outside and saw that everyone is busy preparing for the occasion today. I spotted a toddler running after the preschooler boy. I think they're siblings. I walked toward their direction and the little girl pointed to me saying

"Luna, Luna!!!" The boy then walked towards her covering her mouth.

"Hey, it's okay. What's you name?" I asked

"Yiyia!" She said giggling

"It's Lilia. and I my name is Harry."

"Oh, harry. your sister is so adorable. where's your mum?"

"No mum. She was killed with dad. We're living with aunt jade. Dad's sister." The boy said.

"Oh, can I hug you guys?" The boy didn't answer but he hold his sister and hugged me. Tears fall from my eyes. I am maybe orphan but there's someone out there whose story is much more painful than mine..

"Lu-- Miss, sorry. what did they do to make you cry? My apology." A woman on her late 30's appear infront of me said.

"No, no... Thank you for taking care of the kids. They have a beautiful future ahead of them both." I said and the Woman just stared at me surprised. "I gotta go, see later, see you later kids." I said and held the face of the kids. Little lilia keep on mumbling something..

Everyone get prepared for the wedding, 2 in the afternoon and I am done with my outfit just like everyone. We go to the field and the ceremony begun. Morreth and her husband shared their vows and their I do's. The weather is good, I think here in thunderwood, the weather is always good.

I stand up as soon as the ceremony is finished and they announced that we can start the party. It's 5:30. I was alone because bailey, kim and morreth's sister is busy with the guest. I dont know these people so just kept myself away from them. I spotted the kids that I saw earlier, when I started to lift my foot to go to their direction someone hold at my waist, it was luke.

"You okay here?" He paused, "Sorry, we cant introduce you to the guest. for your safety." he continued.

"Im fine. I am supposed to go to that kids over there. Can you get your hands off from my waist? Im not used to someone holding me like that." I said calmly, almost a whisper.

"Okay, sorry about that. By the way you really look beautiful tonight."

"Thanks." then I left him there and approached the kids.

I didn't realized that he's following me when Lilia pointed at my back saying, "Afa Afa.." I turned my head and saw him smiling. He then grab the 2 kids at the same time, carry on his arms and they giggled.

I can see luke as a good father to his kids in the future. He put down the kids and turned to me.

"It's your turned." He said, he wanted me to mimic what he did, okay then. I grab the kids with my strong arms at the same time and Luke was surprised. I can see his reaction.

"Look at how strong you are." He exclaimed

"I can do it too, kids." I said and Lilia is so overwhelmed.

I put down the kids and fixed my dress.

"Do you ever think that I cant do that too?"

"I didn't expect that."

"Ofcourse, you wouldn't expect from a female whose body doesnt have any evidence of lifting something hard." I said proudly.

He didn't answer me. He seems focus on something, like he's arguing with someone inside his head, then he finally spoke.

"Let's go back to the party. Hey, kids come on." He then carried Lilia and I grab Harrys hand, I am holding it while walking back to the crowd.
