Chapter 14: The Call

Luke's POV:

After calming myself from the shocked that Ari has an idea of werewolves, I mind linked dad immediately.

'Dad, I need to talk to you.' I said

'What is it about, my son?' Dad answered.

I open the mind link to other family members.

'I'll meet you guys at the meeting room at exactly 3 in the afternoon today. Need to talk to you confidentially.'

I ordered. I dont like using my alpha voice to my family members but this time I had to coz I know someone will not attend the meeting since everyone is dead tired form the party last night.

I am preoccupied that I even forgot my mate is right infront of me. She's looking at her phone over and over again.

"Ah, Luke? Can you tell me where this gadget store you mention earlier? I really need to make a call as soon as possible." She said. Honestly, that store is located 5 kilometers away from here.

"And, can I just rent a car from you? you can trust me. I promise, I'll return it perfectly. No damage, scratch and--"

"You cant, you might get lost." I cut her off.

"If you'll just tell me the exact address. Please." She pleaded. I wonder how important that call but I felt jealous and alexer noticed that. Alexer, he knows me more than anyone. He's my bestfriend ofcourse.

"How... No. Can I ask you a question and answer me honestly?" I asked.

"Will you let me rent and drive your car if I answered honestly?" This young lady is so intelligent in making a deal, huh. That makes me proud of her.

"Okay. Let's make a deal." I exclaimed. Alexer is looking at me trying to read what I am up to. 'It's mate thing. Can please get out of here?' I yelled in a mind link.

'Okay, Okay! dont make a terrible decision, dude!' He answered standing up.

"I'll go ahead guys. Thanks for the breakfast." He said turning to Ari. And she nodded with a smile.

"Go on with your question." She said as soon as Alexer left.

"How important is it to you to make that call?"

"It's my uncle. I need to contact him."

"You need to contact him for what reason?" I said looking straight to her eyes figuring out if she's lying to me.

"He's the only one that I can trust so I just want him to know that I am alive and stuck in this city." She said glaring down to her hands folded on the table."And, I need to be aware if there's still someone after me."She continued.

"Okay, I got it. Anyway, we cant go to the falls today. I got an emergency meeting with the pack."

"Pack?"

"Yeah, family pack." Did I say pack? s**t.

"Oh, okay. Can I go back to Bailey's house now? I think I need to change before going to the store."

"Okay, let's go."

We headed outside the house and went to the garage to get the car. I'll let her chose what car she prefers to drive. And Honetly, I've glaring at her over and over again coz it's hard to look away from her beautiful body frame. This woman is really a goddess. And even her dulcet voice makes my wolf jumped out from my head and wanted to take control of me.

"So, this side is all yours?" She asked looking at the wooden plaque with my name written on it.

"Yes." I answered proudly.

"How much will you charge me with that silver range rover over there?" She ask pointing to the range rover velar.

"It's free of charge if you let me seat beside you." I said looking at her.

"That's not necessary. I mean, yes you can seat beside me but I still need to pay for the rent." She insisted.

"Okay, I'll tell you later." I said while handing her the key.

She grab the key from my hand and I felt the sparks and electricity when her skin touches mine.

"Oh what's that? Do you have a fever?" She asked. Maybe she felt it too. I just move my head as a no coz Marcus is taking over my body and Im trying to control him.

"Are you sure? you're burning hot..." She said checking on me by touching my forehead with her palm. I grab her and pulled closer to me. We're looking at each others eyes in silent, she on the other hand analyzing what is happening. I can't hold on anymore, marcus take control of my body. I smelled her scent and it's refreshing. Vanilla and strawberry, I wanted to taste it so badly that I kissed her forehead instead.

"What happened to your eyes, luke?" She broke the silent.

"Why? what happen to my eyes?" I pretended.

"I think it turns black? Or am I seeing things again?" She said confused. I didn't answer coz I am out of words this time. "I think we need to go now." She continued walking toward the car and I followed her. She drove in silent and I am secretly looking at her over and over again till she stopped the car infront of Woods'.

"I wont take long. I just change into a jeans." She muttered without looking at me.

"I'll wait for you here." I answered

After 15 minutes, she came back with a black jeans, plain blue tops that showed her shape, black sneakers with small sling bag. Her hair is tied up showing her perfect face. She walked directly toward the driver's seat without even looking at me, again. I totally understand if she's mad at me. 'It's you fault, wolfie.' I blamed marcus.

'I know and I never regret it.' He replied proudly.

'But it hurts when she ignores us.' I admitted

'I know, but my instinct is telling me that she's starting to like us.' Marcus replied.

'Lets pray that your instinct is right.'

"Get in and lead me the way, mister." Finally, she talk to me. I get inside the car and instructed her the road that she'll going to take.

"What is the maximum speed here?" She asked.

"50 mph but we only allowed 70 if it's not emergency. children and animals are roaming around." I answered

She started the car and followed my instruction except she drive so fast that makes me think she's a member of a racing group.

"I told you not to go on 50!" I almost shouted."Arya, Slooow down." I ordered but I forgot that she's my luna and my alpha voice doesn't work on her.

"Dont worry!" She exclaimed.

I didn't complain since she seems to enjoy with it. I just kept my ears and eyes to watch out for the children and werewolves crossing the road.

It only takes us 2 minutes to arrived to the store.

"Good day, Alpha!" The owner greeted me. he's one of our guard, a strong warrior. We gave him the permission to stay near and build a business here. I mindlink him not to call me alpha and explained that my mate is a human and she doesn't know about us yet.

Arya bought 10 sim cards and 2 new phone that makes me feel suspicious about her. I wish I can read her mind. I said to marcus.

'yes, she's hideous but we need to trust her and protect her. we need to know about her past too.' He replied. Oh right, I need to know more about her. Her past, her parents, her real identity.

She approach me when she's done paying and we headed outside to the car.

"I wanted to make a call away from here. Can we go beyond this place?" She asked

"As you wished." I replied and we both get inside the car. I pointed her the way to a misleading road. A hiding spot if ever an enemy attack us. She stopped the car and inserted a sim card to the phone she bought and get out from the car. I'm not eavesdropping but ofcourse I cant control my hearing ability, plus she is my mate and I can sense and feel her even she go far away from me.

She talked with someone she called uncle dad. She told him that she wanted to go back to school, asked him if he could get her a car under his name, and told him that he saw gabriel in one place but she didn't mention thunderwood. And asked him if they are still searching for her. The man on the other line told her to be very careful because the more she age, the more their interest for her grew higher coz her gift is getting stronger. I am wondering what gift they talking about but I have to investigate about it that made Black River Pack interested in it. After the call, she took out the sim card and break it. She put down the phone in the middle of the road. She signal me to get inside the car and started it, she aim to destroy the phone, when it is totally ruined she got out and picked up the debris, put it inside the ziplock.

"I have faith that you wont tell anyone about this. Not even Bailey. I am starting to trust you and I am hoping that you'll never disappoint me." She ordered. This lady is really something. instead of pleading, she's commanding me like I owe her trust. But she has a different level of skills and leadership ability. A perfect luna indeed.

"Tell me more about you." I replied.

"That's not necessary." She said looking at me.

"Hey, can you please look at the road! Im worrying about your safety here."

"Dont worry, I've been trained to drive like this." She exclaimed proudly. And I was like, really? what kind of life do you have? have you been to military service? you have a lot of training, huh!

"You've been trained but what about my car!" I said. if she just know that this car is nothing compared to her value in my life.

"Oh, right. sorry."

"Yah, and you'll tell me more about you as a charge for this car." I exclaimed.

"Whaaaat?" She said chuckling."You! seriously?"

I know, she cant believe that I got her there.

After that, she just drove slowly in silent. Returning home took us 30 minutes. She jumped out from the car and gave me the key and I made her promise that she'll tell me about her as soon as possible.
