Chapter 1: WORLDS APART(Ariana Pov)
The gentle morning sunlight streamed through the bedroom window, filling the room with a warm golden glow. Ariana Sanchez slowly opened her eyes and stretched before sitting up in bed.
"Rise and shine, Ariana," she whispered to herself with a soft smile.
The quiet hum of Los Angeles drifted through her open window. She loved mornings like this—peaceful, calm, and entirely her own. Her life was simple. She enjoyed reading books, sipping coffee while listening to birds sing, and finding joy in the little things. Everything about her life was predictable, comfortable, and exactly the way she liked it.
She had no idea that everything was about to change.
A few miles away, Richard Blackwood was already awake.
Unlike Ariana, Richard's morning had begun hours earlier. Dressed neatly in a crisp white shirt and dark trousers, he sat at his desk reviewing his schedule while answering emails on his laptop. His apartment reflected his personality—organized, elegant, and orderly.
His life revolved around meetings, deadlines, business dinners, and responsibilities. Discipline came naturally to him, and success was the result of careful planning and hard work. Although he loved his family deeply, work often occupied most of his time.
Neither Richard nor Ariana knew the other existed.
Yet fate had already begun weaving their lives together.
Ariana's Point of View
Later that afternoon, Ariana sat comfortably in the living room, reading her favorite novel when her father walked in.
"Ariana," he called gently.
She looked up and smiled.
"Yes, Dad?"
He sat beside her with a thoughtful expression.
"A proposal has come for you."
The smile on Ariana's face slowly faded.
"A... proposal?"
Her father nodded.
"Yes."
Her heart skipped a beat.
Marriage had always seemed like something far away—something she would think about years later. She had never imagined the conversation would happen so suddenly.
Her mother joined them and sat beside her, placing a comforting hand over hers.
"The family is respectable," her mother said softly. "Their son is Richard Blackwood. He is educated, responsible, hardworking, and comes from a family we've known and trusted for many years."
Ariana remained silent for a moment.
"I wasn't expecting this," she admitted quietly.
Her father smiled reassuringly.
"We know it's a surprise. Marriage isn't built on feelings alone. It's about trust, respect, commitment, and building a life together."
Her mother nodded.
"I've met Richard several times. He's polite, kind, and deeply respectful. He may not be someone you've chosen for yourself, but sometimes love grows from understanding, patience, and companionship."
Ariana lowered her eyes.
"I don't know him."
"You'll have the opportunity to meet him," her father replied. "Take your time. Get to know him. Pray for guidance, and then make your decision."
Ariana leaned back against the sofa, her mind filled with questions.
Her peaceful life had suddenly taken an unexpected turn.
A stranger was about to become part of her future.
RICHARD'S POV)
That evening, Richard sat quietly at the dining table, reviewing a few documents on his laptop while enjoying a cup of coffee. His parents exchanged a glance before his father finally broke the silence.
"Richard," his father said calmly, "there's something we'd like to discuss with you."
Richard looked up from his laptop and closed it.
"I'm listening."
His father smiled warmly.
"A marriage proposal has come for you."
Richard remained calm, though the news caught him by surprise.
"A proposal?"
"Yes," his mother replied. "The young woman's name is Ariana Sanchez. She comes from a respectable family we've known for many years. She's well-educated, kind, and family-oriented."
Richard listened quietly without interrupting.
His father continued, "Marriage is more than love or attraction. It's about trust, commitment, respect, and building a life together."
Richard leaned back slightly in his chair.
"And what about my feelings?" he asked softly.
His father smiled.
"Feelings are important, but they often grow with time. Respect, understanding, and companionship usually come first. If love is meant to blossom, it will."
His mother reached across the table and gently placed her hand over his.
"We're not asking you to make a blind decision," she said kindly. "We simply want you to meet her and get to know her before making your choice."
Richard remained thoughtful for a moment.
"I appreciate your honesty," he said. "I'll meet her."
His parents exchanged relieved smiles.
His father nodded proudly.
"That's all we're asking."
Richard stood and walked toward the large window overlooking the city lights.
Marriage had never been at the top of his priorities. His career had always come first, and he believed there would be plenty of time for love in the future.
Now, everything seemed to be changing.
Somewhere else in the city, Ariana was also lying awake, wondering about the stranger she had been asked to marry.
Neither of them knew what the future held.
They were two people living completely different lives, connected only by a decision made by their families.
Very soon, those separate worlds would collide.
Chapter 3: PROPOSAL
The Saturday morning sun shone brightly over the Sanchez residence as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and homemade pastries filled the house. The Sanchez family had been awake since dawn, preparing for an important visit. Every cushion was neatly arranged, every surface polished, and every corner of the mansion carefully cleaned by the maids.
Although the house looked peaceful, an invisible tension lingered in the air.
Ariana Sanchez stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the hem of her cream-colored dress. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach.
"This is just a meeting," she whispered to herself.
Downstairs, her father glanced at the grandfather clock.
"They should be here any minute."
A few moments later, the sound of a car pulling into the driveway echoed through the quiet neighborhood.
"They're here," Mrs. Sanchez said excitedly.
The Blackwood family stepped out of a sleek black SUV. Richard Blackwood followed behind his parents, dressed in a navy-blue suit that reflected his calm and disciplined personality.
The front door opened before they could knock.
"Welcome!" Mr. Sanchez said warmly as he greeted his old friends.
"It's been a long time," Mr. Blackwood replied, embracing him.
"It certainly has. Please, come in."
The two families exchanged warm smiles before settling comfortably in the spacious living room. Tea, coffee, and refreshments were served as they reminisced about old memories, discussed business, and caught up on each other's lives.
After several minutes, the atmosphere gradually became more serious.
Mr. Blackwood cleared his throat.
"We didn't come only as old friends today."
The room fell silent.
He smiled gently before continuing.
"We came to ask for the hand of your daughter, Ariana, in marriage to our son, Richard."
Mrs. Sanchez glanced at her husband before smiling warmly.
"It is truly an honor."
Mr. Sanchez nodded.
"Our families have known each other for many years. We know the values you've raised Richard with, and we have great respect for him."
Richard remained composed, listening quietly.
Mrs. Blackwood smiled proudly.
"Our son is responsible, hardworking, and God-fearing. We believe he is ready to build a home founded on love, respect, and commitment."
Mrs. Sanchez smiled.
"Ariana is compassionate, educated, and family-oriented. We've always prayed that she would marry someone who values her heart above everything else."
Silence settled over the room once again.
Finally, Mr. Sanchez spoke.
"Before we discuss anything further, I believe the young people deserve an opportunity to know each other."
Mr. Blackwood smiled.
"I couldn't agree more."
Both parents turned toward Richard and Ariana.
"You may spend some time together in the garden."
Neither of them objected.
As they walked toward the quiet garden behind the house, neither Richard nor Ariana realized that the conversation they were about to have would become the first page of a story that would change both their lives forever.
