Chapter Three The next day Laura got confirmation of her bonus and went into organised mode. Over the course of a week she booked flights and hotels, sorted out insurance, checked their passports, got the right currency and arranged a taxi. Between times she bought travel toiletries and sun cream, and started a ‘packing pile’ of things to take with them. One evening Laura did not arrive home at her usual time so Ian started dinner. Or rather he adopted his standard ploy of switching on the oven and pretending to wait for it to reach the right temperature.
