CHAPTER THREE

Ace's pov

I couldn't not seem to sleep through out the night because of the incident that took place at the party, I couldn't really place my hand on the reason for them choosing my brother and I for tasks that we know nothing about, a mission we don't even know where to start from.

" I think I should go to the wise elders council and seek their knowledge if the have any idea about this situation" I thought to my self

I believed that seeking the council of the elders might be of help, because thinking of the shadow wolf's words only got me more confused, "maybe they will be of help, but I have to get Tyler, am sure he would love to come with me" I concluded to my self.

As I walked across the balcony, I saw Ryker pacing up and down with his hands behind his back, he was definitely worried from the look of things, I was about to walk away when something popped into my head.

"I wonder if Ryker had know about this issue before, he did not seem to be surprised as we were when the shadow wolf spoke to us.

" Sire" I called out as I approached him, but he didn't give me any response,

" Sire" I called out again, but this time he gave me a response " yes, any problem "

" No sire... " I replied, looking more confused than him, he was actually sweating all over his body.

I could tell that he didn't get any sleep the last night, "I think I should be asking you that question sire...", I continued "are you okay"

"what do you mean by that" he said already looking furious. " I mean you look more worried than any of us, am sure you didn't get to sleep last night cause your eyes all swollen and you are sweating all over your body" I replied

" Were you no there when the shadow wolf came, he asked staring directly at my eyeballs

"Yes, I was there of course" I responded mixtures of curiosity and fear flowing through my voice,

"And you heard everything he said" he asked again as he came closer to me

"Of course sire, I did..." I replied as I cautiously backwards, I was afraid cause he face was getting covered with more of fury

"But the shadow Wolf's word also included that Tyler and I are the ones destined to undo what ever this predicament is" I continued

" You will do no such thing, your only place in this castle, doing your duties as princes and whatever the hell princes do, not going to fight battles and explore cosmic realms that you know nothing about " he said raising his voice at me.

He was already getting to my nerves, I could not bear it any more, I had to speak my mind,

" Maybe not now but I will when I get the knowledge I need about all this, I assume you know nothing about this" I asked with anger already surging through my veins.

" No I don't, even if I did know anything about this, am definitely not going to tell you anything " he said out with anger

" Then I would have to seek the counsel of the seven wise elders "

" You will do no such thing, you will seek counsel from no one" he said furiously

I too was already furious too " oh yes I will "

He looked at me with rage, dragged my shirt and punched my face, he pushed me and pinned me to the wall, I tried to retaliate but he was to strong for me to take him down

Next he brought out a dagger and tried to stab me, I couldn't move, I closed my eyes after a few seconds I opened my eyes, for a moment I had thought he was going to kill me but what I saw was different

He had thrust the dagger to the wall just right beside my head, still pinned me to the wall, he staring at me with rage in his face, panting with so much fury

He held me on the wall for some moments then he released me

I struggled to catch my breath as Ryker released his grip on me. His furious gaze was locked onto mine, and the intensity of the moment hung heavy in the air. I gingerly touched the spot on the wall where the dagger had narrowly missed my head, a cold sweat forming on my forehead.

"You're naive, Ace". he said out, his voice dripping with scorn. "You think seeking help from the elders counsel will solve anything?

"So what, you're just going to keep everything to yourself? Act like some lone warrior with all the answers?" I said with anger burning inside me

"You don't understand, Ace", he repeated, his voice now flowing with sadness. "There are forces at play here that you can't comprehend. Forces that threaten not just our world, but the very fabric of existence".

I studied him for a moment, uncertainty mingling with my anger. Despite his aggression, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to his actions than met the eye

Ryker's grip on the dagger tightened, and I braced myself for another outburst. But instead, he let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders slumping slightly.

Ryker's expression wavered once more, torn between his stubborn determination and a flicker of doubt. After a tense moment, he finally sighed, lowering the dagger and stepping away from the wall.

"Ace listen to me, no matter what you say am not going to allow you to do something stupid, I won't allow you venture into something you know nothing about, am the king of this people and it's in my place to protect them not you, they know me not you,

I can't leave the matter of my people for you to toil with, you're in experienced and don't know anything about what you want to venture into so just forget it, henceforth I restricted you from leaving the castle for any reason" he concluded

" No you can't do this to me, I won't accept this" I cried out angrily

" Oh yes I just did" he replied " now leave my presence "

I turned with both rage and sadness flowing in me, I felt heartbroken as I walked towards Tyson's chambers.
