Ch.3 Who Are You

1143 Words
Shea turned toward the door as she finished putting on her heels. She saw a man who was opening the door. His face was still unfamiliar. "Mr. Torres is waiting for you to join him in the patio for dinner," Alejandro said. Shea suddenly remembered that she hadn't eaten in more than two days. The hunger was killing her. But would she be able to eat properly in front of Marco? Shea rose to her feet. Her body still felt weak despite the warm shower. She walked after Alejandro. Shea glanced at the man's back from time to time. She thought he was the one who had given the money to the kidnappers and taken her to the room. His voice was still in Shea's mind. Shea's steps stopped at a table filled with food. She sat at the end across from Marco. The man seemed to smile slightly at her arrival. "I know you haven't eaten for a few days. Please enjoy the food," Marco said as Alejandro poured wine into Shea's glass and his own. Shea did not react to Marco's words. She immediately downed the wine in her glass until there was nothing left. Feeling deprived, Shea stood up and approached Alejandro. Alejandro was standing next to Marco holding a bottle of wine. In front of Marco and Alejandro, Shea grabbed the bottle and drank from it. She looked at Marco. He was staring at her in silence. Shea was panting. She had drunk half the bottle of wine. In the meantime, Marco had ordered Alejandro to leave the place. So now it was just him and the girl. Shea drank the whole bottle of wine. Suddenly, she slammed the bottle down on the table. She made a shrill noise that broke the silence. Then Shea pointed the broken end of the bottle at her neck, grabbing the end of the bottle. "Let me out of here," Shea said with a stuttering breath. "You still don't get it," Marco replied with a smile. He reached for his glass. He drank the wine. "Let me out of here and I won't report you to the police." Shea repeated the meaningless threat, making Marco want to laugh at her. "Not even the police can help you," Marco whispered. Shea laughed at Marco's dismissal of the police. "Are you going to bribe them?" she asked, raising both eyebrows. Marco smiled proudly as he nodded his head. "They are my very obedient dogs," he replied. Shea was stunned. She hadn't expected to hear that sentence coming out of Marco's mouth. Who exactly was this man sitting quietly in front of her? Why did he dare to say those words? "Who the hell are you?" Shea asked in a whisper. Marco smiled again and looked at Shea's hand holding the end of the bottle. He immediately took the bottle from Shea's grasp while his other hand grabbed the girl's waist. Marco pulled Shea down onto his lap. Shea closed her eyes immediately. Marco pointed the sharp tip of the bottle at her throat. She held her breath. She braced herself to withstand the pain if the man really was going to scrape the tip of the bottle across her neck. "Shea Finnegan. 25 years old. Works as an assistant manager at a shoe store. Your relationship with Diego ended about a week ago because he was having an affair with one of your co-workers." Shea slowly opened her eyes to look up. Her gaze met Marco's brown eyes. "Who are you?" Shea asked in a whisper. "Me?" Marco smiled. He pulled at Shea's waist until their bodies collided. At the same time, Shea winced as the tip of the bottle brushed the skin of her neck. Marco immediately pushed the bottle away from her and threw it to the ground. "I'm the one who saved you from the kidnapping gang." "Big liar. You bought me like an inanimate object." "Maybe all the organs in your body would already be in someone else's hands if you weren't here." Marco paused as he watched the expression on Shea's face, frozen once again by his words. "And you should consider yourself lucky that you are still alive until now." "You're very good at making people feed on their own fears," Shea muttered with a sad smile. But Marco did not care about Shea's sarcasm. Instead, he smiled. "I enjoy scaring people," he replied. Shea heaved a sigh of frustration. She was annoyed that Marco didn't notice the sarcasm being thrown at him. Just as Shea was about to get up from Marco's lap, the man grabbed her around the waist. He pushed away the plate in front of her. Shea gasped as Marco picked her up and placed her on the table. Marco rose to his feet. Both hands grabbed Shea's arms as she tried to push him up. Marco brought his face closer until their noses touched. They both felt the rush of each other's breath. Shea's eyes were still fixed on Marco's eyes. Finally, her gaze fell on the man's lips. Shea closed her eyes again. Marco brought his face to the back of her ear as he inhaled the scent that enveloped Shea. "That's what my rose looks like. You smell good," Marco whispered. He then gave Shea a quick peck on the back of her neck, causing her to close her eyes. Shea immediately bit her lip to keep from moaning when Marco kissed her. She even squeezed her hands together to control the sudden excitement. Marco's warm breath almost drove Shea crazy when it entered her earlobe. Marco smiled when he noticed Shea's reaction. He moved his face back to the front of her face. This time it's closer until his lips lightly touch Shea's lips. Shea opened her eyes and immediately pushed Marco away. She tried to regain consciousness. She also tried to stay sober from the alcoholic reaction that was affecting her mind to make her aroused just by the man's slight touch. "I want to eat in peace," Shea said under her breath. She placed her hands on the front of Marco's chest. "I thought you wanted to play with me right away-" "Alone. You have to get out of here so I can eat in peace." Shea interrupted and stifled her words. Marco looked at the table and then back at Shea. He took a step back to put some distance between them. "I don't want to take too long. You should be done eating in half an hour." Marco said and walked past Shea. But he stopped immediately when he was at the opposite end of the table from Shea. Marco looked back when Shea turned around and their eyes met. "Don't ever do that running-away thing again. You'll never make it." Marco said before continuing his steps.
