They had just crossed the border when the patrol informed him that there was an SUV approaching their border. He could guess who it was; he knew they wouldn’t wait too long to come and talk to River, so he told the warrior to stay out of sight and went around the back of the pack house where the other students stopped, but Edan, Isaac and James stayed with them.
He could sense River’s confusion at him not stopping at the pack house, until he felt her heart jolt in surprise at seeing her brother and father waiting outside the SUV with Fawn for permission to cross into their territory.
