727 Words
Sunshine Coffee, Queens. Amos was no stranger here. He had done a part-time job here, where a large part of the guests were gangsters in this area. Amos knew that his mother must be accidentally poured the coffee on a malicious one that led her to the result. For the so-called face and prestige, a man would break a person’s leg and also make blackmail must be with a vicious heart! Walk into the coffee shop, Amos took out some money and put it on the bar. The girl cashier was in surprise. “Sir, what can I do for you?” “A few days ago, a man broke a leg of a woman worker here. Do you know who is that man? Tell me and then you can keep the money.” The cashier girl looked around and said carefully, “The man who hurt Aunt Flora is a gangster of this street. His name is Bob.” “Where can I find him?” Amos took out some more money. He was not familiar with the name of “Bob”. But it was not a strange thing for new gangs to keep showing up. The cashier shook her head and said, “I don’t know, but I heard one of my friends once have said that Bob and his gang often hang out at Velvet Goldmine at night.” After a pause, the girl kept saying, “You are a new face here, handsome boy. Are you a relative of Aunt Flora? How is she now? I’d advise you better not look for Bob. He has power. You can’t fight him.” But when she finished and raised her head, Amos had vanished from sight. … As night fell, the bustling city became more lively. As one of the most prosperous cities in the US, New York had always been known as the city that never slept. Velvet Goldmine was a small bar, but the business was good because the owner of this bar had quite a background. Ordinary people dare not make troubles here so that it attracted a lot of customers. From the few hours after coming out of the coffee, Amos had found that clearly that Bob was the leader of this area. Some of his heelers were the dare-to-fight young men, and he himself followed a man who was of great influence. Therefore, at ordinary times he was arrogant and domineering, and breaking someone’s leg was not a big deal to him. Slowly snuffed out the cigarette in hand, Amos looked at the neon flashing signboard of Velvet Goldmine from a distance. He had gone to the hospital before coming over. He had bought some tonic for his mom, and the doctor had said the operation had been a success. It just took a period of time to get back to normal. However, they can’t treat his families like that. He was not going to swallow it! In those days, the leader of Blood Leopard, which was ranked in the Top 10 of the mercenary circle, had cut off the 5 fingers of his brother. And Amos that still had remained unknown at that time had entered the headquarters of Blood Leopard and had wiped it out completely from this world by himself. And each corpse all lost five fingers! It had been also from that later, the name of Amos had begun to know on that land where there were full of blood and flames of war. Everybody knew that, in HELL, there was a horrible guy, who was heartless and cruel and sought revenge for the smallest grievance. When he smiled, blood would flow all over the ground! In just 3 years, Amos had led the HELL that had fallen already, had stepped on the bodies of countless enemies and had set foot on the throne of the king of the mercenary world. And the title of “Smile Death” had been born, which made the mercenary circle trembling. But those who really knew him were aware that the so-called “Smile Death” was just a madman who dared to risk his life for the sake of his brothers. Let alone his closest mother. It was destined to be an unquiet night.
