Chapter 20 Don’t let him in

951 Words
The car ran smoothly but the speed was not slow at all. At usual, it should take half an hour to reach the company. Today, ten minutes was all he needed. During these ten minutes, Rebecca was on pins and needles. Right, that delicious breakfast gave her a trifling touch, but it was just for a moment. When Amos was driving while shaking the head to hum a song. The moving just disappeared. A leopard never changed his spots! Rebecca indignantly picked up her handbag and got off, while saying, “You won’t follow me around at work, will you? There’s absolutely no danger in the company.” “Absolutely?” There was nothing that will never happen. Such a naive girl! Did you really think that the people around you were all trustworthy?! If so, who had leaked the information about your last flight to the mercenaries?! But these things he did not need to tell her, and even if she heard these words, she also wouldn’t change her impression towards him, perhaps, she would consider it as alarmism. Rebecca frowned and looked at Amos. “Of course, our security force is very excellent. Remember! Although you help me before and my grandfather asks you to protect me, you can’t interfere with my freedom, OK?” Rebecca then opened the door and walked straight into the company with her long legs. Looking at the graceful figure, especially the very elastic part wrapped with the black tight skirt, Amos was licking his lips while imagining the nice feeling of touching it. However, the next second, his face changed. Because when Rebecca came to the gate, she looked back at him coldly and turned her head to talked with the security guards at the door. And Amos clearly heard the words. “That man over there. Don’t let him go into the company, otherwise, be ready to be fired.” Amos put on a wry smile and a trick came to his mind. The two security guards were confused. At first, they had been pleasantly surprised that Miss White had stopped to talk to them. But they hadn’t expected that she would have made such a request after they had seen that she had gotten off that Maybach. And they just had simply wondered why she had changed the car from Mercedes-Benz to Maybach. And now she had just asked them to do such a thing. Therefore, they were extremely puzzled. Who was the man in the car that made Miss White so angry? It should be Uncle Mike as the driver. But, why should Miss White treat such a duteous elder man in such a rude way? However, even they were full of doubts, the two security guards dared not to speak a questioning word. They still behaved, as usual, to respectfully agree to her request. When Rebecca saw that the two guards nodded, she breathed a sigh of relief. She turned back and humph towards Amos’s direction, and then rushed to her office in a hurry. She was late for the morning meeting because of that guy! But she completely forgot that, according to Amos’s initial arrangement, she shouldn’t have been late. Amos did not get out of the car. He thought for a few seconds and then drove the car directly into the parking lot. And then he got off and walked to the company gate. The two security guards who had been watching the Maybach were stunned at the first sight of Amos. It seemed that the man who had driven Miss White to work was not Uncle Mike, but a young man. “Will, who is he? I have never seen him before.” “Me too. Ken, he’s coming this way. If he tries to come in, shall we stop him?” “Surely we shall! Don’t forget what Miss White has said.” At the thought of this young man was the cause that made Miss White angry and had given them the ultimatum, Ken was full of courage. However, after Amos mobilized the enthusiasm of these two people completely, he just passed through from the front door of the building of W and disappeared in the crowd in the twinkling of an eye. W was the most famous jewelry company in New York, which was also a support for the Whites to stand till for so many years. Although there were many industries that belonged to the Whites, W was one of the industries Mr. White attached most importance to. So, he had handed it over to his youngest son, Jackson White, whom he was most proud of. And Jackson White really did live up to public expectations, in a short 20 years, W then had developed fast and had become one of the most powerful leading industry in New York. However, Jackson White had died a month ago. Now, the person at the wheel of W was Rebecca. Although on the surface, she was an acting CEO, everybody of W knew in mind that Rebecca White will become their real boss shortly after. ... Opposite the towering building of W was a cafe with distinctive features called Future Light. At the moment, Amos was walking into this cafe with his signature evil charm smile. He sat in the position of a corner of the cafe, where the position was facing the French window of Rebecca’s office, who was in a hurry to sort the files on the table. It looked like that she was preparing for the morning meeting.
