Chapter 17 The pursuer of Alice

1342 Words
Not far away behind Alice, there was a young boy coldly stared at the view of her back. Amos watched his sister walk into the house, and looked at the boy for five seconds, and then walked slowly over. “Hey, are you looking for Alice?” In addition to the yellow hair, this boy was well-featured with big eyes and bushy eyebrows and was about as tall as he was. “It’s none of your business!” In a bad mood, the boy answered with an impolite tone. Amos repeated his words with a chuckle. “It’s none of my business. None of my business?!” After a second, suddenly a heavy slap ruthlessly hit on the back of the backside of the boy’s head, followed by the words of Amos that said angrily. “You’re harassing my sister and you’re harassing my family. Still think that it is none of my business? Come clear! Why are you here and what’s that stare means?” That boy was suffering vertigo from the slap and he was trying to come after Amos. But he immediately stopped trying when he heard the words. “Haha! My future brothers-in-law! So sorry that I fail to recognize you!” Hearing that, Amos kicked the boy down. “Stop talking or I’ll strip your tooth out! You hear me?” The boy wailed with pain and managed to pull himself up. “Future brother… Umm… I really did not do anything bad. I like Alice for many years. And I see that she wears the same clothes all the time, so I have given her two sets of clothes. But I did not expect that she not only did not appreciate but also put me down. I just can’t accept the result. That’s all. I did not harass her, really.” Amos then just calm himself down, in the meantime, he also felt really guilty to his younger sister. A pursuer can think of these things, why he, her brother, can not think of that. He was really too derelict of duty. However, the way Alice dealt with the her pursuers, Amos was still very agree with. The right thing should be done at the right time. You shouldn’t have those messy thoughts when you were still a high school student. Even if you had those thoughts, you can’t let others be affected by them. Alice was right about this! These hebetic signs should be stopped in the embryonic stage. It was good for everyone. Walking to that boy who was still moaning because of the pain, Amos noticed that there were two brand-new shopping bags next to him. They were latest fashions of Channel. He should be at least a rich second generation. Kicking the ankle of the boy, Amos said snappily, “Stop being fussing. I didn’t even kick you hard. If I do, you’ll be dead or at least crippled.” The boy stopped crying and looked at Amos in disbelief. “You didn’t kick me hard?! So painful!” “Such a flower in the greenhouse! Listen! Stop pester Alice! If there’s time, read more books, OK?” The hit made the boy perish the thought. He immediately shook his head repeatedly. “OK! OK! I don’t want to be crippled yet!” Amos liked such kind of clever kids. Besides, he didn’t do any substantial harm to Alice, so it’s no need to keep hammering away at it. Then he said, with a pause, patted the boy on the shoulder, and smiled. “Well, take the clothes back to show filial piety to your mom. You are still young, and the only girl you can be good aboveboard should be your mother, understand?” The boy nodded and limped away with the shopping bags. Looking at his leaving figure, Amos involuntarily shook his head. “Ah… So good to be young. You can make mistakes, and there is time to restart. Good luck, little boy!” Turning to go home and found that Alice had not yet come out of her room. Amos hesitated for a moment and knocked at the door. “Alice, did you have your lunch? I have bought lunch, let’s eat together.” At first, nothing happened. After a few minutes, Alice’s muffled voice was heard. “I’ll go to the hospital to accompany mom, and then we’ll eat together. Help yourself.” Alice hadn’t called him by the name yet since he had come back. Amos could not help but put on a wry smile. It seemed that he should spend a bit more time to remove the misunderstanding. After a few seconds of silence, Amos knocked on the door again. “I have sent the lunch to mom. If you do not eat with me now, mom can’t eat a second lunch with you.” Alice opened the door reluctantly, muttering in a low voice, “Never mind. I have no appetite anyway.” But no sooner had she uttered these words than she was stunned by the food on the table, which smelled so good that she had never tasted before. “So many delicious foods!” She was fascinated by the dishes for a few seconds, but then she thought of another question and quickly turned her inquiring eyes to her brother, who was watching her with a smile. “Amosy, we can’t finish so much food! And I have wanted to ask you a question since the last time we were in the hospital. How did you get so much money to pay mom’s costly medical bills?” Amos smiled and touched his little sister’s cheek and said, “Finally being willingly to call me again. My little girl, not angry with me now? Come on! Let’s eat first.” He took Alice to the table to sit down and handed her a pair of chopsticks. “You just need to know that; I have come back and you are our little princess. In addition, to study hard, you do not have to worry about anything. I will let you and mom live a life that completely different from the one before.” Alice’s face turned a little red. She silently looked at Amos and stretched out her hand to take the chopsticks. Amos noticed that Alice’s clothes were really worn out, and there were even patches on it. No wonder it would cause the attention of that boy. There should be no girls nowadays dressing like his sister. Thinking of this, Amos felt a pang of pain again and stared into his sister’s eyes and said, “Are you free this afternoon? Let’s go shopping and buy some clothes!” Alice froze for a moment and looked down at her old clothes. Then she smiled carelessly. “I have enough clothes to wear.” Amos gave silent praise to his sister. She became a strong girl who knew what she should really care about and what she should really aspire to. Compared to those kids who only knew about name brands, Alice was really sensible and thoughtful. Amos was gratified to smile, but he still insisted, “Listen to me! I have hired a nursing worker to take care of mom in the hospital, so that you don’t need to go back and forth when the classes were over. It is settled. Let’s go shopping this afternoon.” Alice still wanted to refute, but she was stopped by Amos’s sincere expression, which was full of the strength that made her warm-up. “Fine! Let’s go!”
