Epilogue: The Reason
*Flashback*     Lacey and I decided to have a party while my parents were out of town. Little did I know that this party would be the end of me. Well for a little while that is. I told her that I didn’t want a gigantic party, just a small simple one, knowing that she would do the exact opposite of whatever I told her.      It was around midnight when the party started to dim down, and the kids started to go home. I was getting really tired and I thought that everyone had already left, so I went to bed. BAD MISTAKE! I went upstairs and stopped at my bedroom door when I realized I forgot my usual glass of water. I was about to go back downstairs when I heard giggling and laughing, both very familiar to me. I thought that this couldn’t be true.      You know we are going to have to tell her soon right? Cause I have to remind you that you are her best friend and my girlfriend, that she will find out eventually, and if we don’t tell her soon she will hate us for the rest of our lives. Can you live with that? That was my supposed boyfriend, Collins Ray May.      No, I can’t live with that, but we’ve been doing this behind her back for almost two years. Y'all are very good together, and y’all make are very cute couple also. But you are right we should tell her soon. My supposed best friend Lacey Renae Meld said.      Then there was silence…     I had heard enough of this crap. I was done with all of their BS and lying straight to my face and going right behind my back and what? Screwing each other? I couldn’t help it, the tears started to roll. I barged into my room. I found them lip locked on my bed. They jumped about ten feet off the bed.      “Ev-Ev-Eval… We weren’t doing anything,” they said in unison.      I walked over to my bed, calmly, then I slapped Lacey in the face and then turned to Collins and kicked him where the sun doesn’t shine.     Then I kicked them out of my house and told them to never ever come back.  That is the day that I lost a best friend and the one person I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. That was exactly one year ago.      It was my 18th birthday when I found out who my mate was. You see my grandmother, Reda Orac, who is an oracle, as in fortune teller, she can tell people’s mates. She looked like she was about ready to die when she saw mine. She told us that my mate and I are super rare, like my parents, but not as bad. My mate’s ancestors are mortal enemies of ours. She told me that I should start at Sacramento High School in California, ASAP. That there would be like this silver cord that will connect us. She gave me three things to help me along with my search to find him.                              1) He’s an ALPHA                                2) He’s around 6’7                                 3) He has the most unique eye color that you will ever see. Purple with a golden tint, like the sun, is shining through them.     Later that day, I was going to my room like normal, I stopped at my parent’s room to tell them they did a great job when I overheard their conversation.      You’ve got to be kidding me. This can not be happening to her! My father screamed when my grandmother told my dad what my mate was. But of course, this was not in front of me, because the identity of our mate was supposed to be kept secret until we met them. Only our parents were allowed to know the who, what, when part of our mates. At the sudden holler of my father’s voice, I’m guessing my mate isn’t gonna make my father very happy.      After I heard what my parents were talking about, I decided to go to my room, and act like I just didn’t hear what I just heard. My parents called me and my brother down, to tell us to start packing because we would be leaving as soon as they get back from securing us a place to live in California. They said, they would try to be back as soon as possible, but it literally took them a whole week to get back to us. Our grandmother had to watch us until they got back, and I don’t have to tell you what a drag that was. Literally, who out there has a really cool grandparent that will let you do anything as long as they know where you are going? Come on now be honest. No one, seriously? That’s what I thought.
