"Isn't someone looking sexy?" I rolled my eyes and giggled and watched as Ginas eyes ran up and down my body. I had on a black dress that didn't even reach my knees. I didn't want to go all out because I highly doubt we'll be there long, plus I have to be in the office early in the morning.
"Thank you." We were in my room as I was finishing my make-up. Gina ended up getting her sister to babysit which I totally thanked her for. I need this little outing. I find it funny how it took my three days to completely lose my mind.
I finished up my make-up and grabbed my purse and headed downstairs with Gina right behind me. "You both look hot." Gina's sister Gabby said. I thanked her as I went over to Marie and kissed her on her head.
"Don't even try and stay up late. You have school in the morning." She rolled her eyes.
"And you have work." I scoffed.
"Yeah well I'm grown." We both giggled as I kissed her head one more time and headed out the door. Gina and I decided to go to a bar that wasn't too far from the house. On the outside it didn't look like much but on the inside it was amazing. There was an open area where people were free to dance. It was dark but there were different colored lights hanging on the ceiling. The bar was in the middle of the whole place and there were tables and booths set up in different areas.
Gina grabbed my hand and led us to the bar. We sat down on the stools and ordered a couple of shots. Every time I go out I watch the bartender make my drinks, and I also never let a stranger by me a drink. It's gotten to the point where I am cautious of everything and everyone around me.
I watched as the bartender brought over our drinks and left. I immediately chugged the thing in my mouth and then regretted it. It burned the living hell out of my throat, but I didn't care as I downed another one. I then looked over as Gina to see her eyes wide. "Well okay." We both laughed as she downed her first one.
The night went pretty well. Nothing suspicious, just a few people trying to flirt with me here and there. I'm not really trying to go home with anyone tonight so I rejected all of them. There was this one guy who I swear I was about five seconds from punching. He told me he can 'change me' after I told him I was gay. Thankfully the bartender told him to leave or else he would be kicked out.
I thanked him and he told me 'no problem'.
Right now I was watching Gina trying to flirt with this girl. She has been trying all night but there was always something stopping her. She was dancing with this blonde and I was watching her. Gina then whispered something in the blondes ear making her giggle. All of a sudden Gina was being pulled away from the blonde by a guy. I stood up but didn't go over there, I was ready to pounce.
They then started arguing which confused me, that was until the dude pulled the blonde into a kiss and they started making out. Realization then hit me as I started laughing. Gina came back over to see me laughing and groaned. I sat down to catch my breath but was still laughing. "Oh god! That was too funny." Gina hit me in the arm and downed another shot.
At this point I'm pretty sure shes at least tipsy while I'm over here still sober. Gina and I usually do a trading thing on who gets to get hammered and who has to stay sober. Tonight was my turn which makes no sense because I was the one who suggested going out. "Uhh! I'm ready to go." I nodded my head as I stood up. Gina's eyes followed me as I grabbed my purse. I then looked at her in confusion.
She came closer to me and then made me sit back down on the stool and grabbed my legs wrapping them around her legs. "I forgot about the whole friends with benefits thing we made. Otherwise we would of left a long time ago." I chuckled as I brought her lips to mine.
Like I said, I wasn't really in the mood to do anything but I know Gina has been stressed these last few months and I would be happy to help her release some of that stress. Her hand slid up my dress and touched my inner thigh. I moaned as her tongue slipped into my mouth. "I don't think Gabby wants to hear us." I said into the kiss.
"Thankfully we drove here in your car." Gina said. My eyes widened as I hit her on her shoulder. Before I could argue she grabbed my hand and pulled my towards the exit. I was giggling the whole time as we got to my car. Gina pushed me against it and deeply kissed me. I could completely taste the tequila that she drank. She then opened the back door and pushed me inside. As she was hovering over me I smiled.
"I'm really glad we agree to this." I said. Gina smirked and leaned into me.
"You have no idea."
********
I groaned loudly as I rolled over in my bed. I had a small headache which confused me. I had two shots and a beer! I opened my eyes to see I woke up five minutes late. I wasn't upset because I'm surprised that I actually woke up. I got up and yawned as I walked out of my room and down the hall. I opened the door of Marie's room to see her peacefully sleeping. I smiled down at her, she was so beautiful while sleeping. I leaned down by her side. "Wake up!" She screamed and fell off her bed as I started laughing.
"What is wrong with you!" She yelled at me.
"More than you think." I responded. "Get dressed. You have ten minutes, and breakfast will be ready downstairs." She said okay and I walked back to my room. I grabbed some clothes and then hopped into the shower.
I let the hot water run over my body and I sighed in content. All of a sudden my phone started ringing making me loudly sigh. I reached over to the toilet where my phone was lying. I answer it and put it on speaker. "What's up." I said.
"Just making sure you actually got up." Gina said, I chuckled. Most of the time after we go out I forget to set my alarm and sleep in.
"I'm surprisingly up." She sighed.
"Good. But um..I need to tell you something." By the sound of her voice I knew it wasn't good, either that or she did something.
"What is it?" There was a pause and I knew she was biting her lip.
"Layla is stopping by your office later." The room filled with silence and the only thing you could hear was the water crashing against the tub. "She told me she needed to talk to you. I was against it but she had this look on her face and it was something that told me it was an emergency. Plus she is my boss and could fire me." I rolled my eyes at that last part. I sighed as I stopped the shower and ringed out my hair. "Are you mad at me?" She asked. I stepped out of the shower and dried off.
"Honestly no. I'm just glad you warned me." That was the truth. I have a feeling that whatever the reason why Layla has to talk to me isn't to blame me, but for something else.
"Good. What are you doing right now by the way?" I smirked to myself.
"Just got out the shower." Gina loudly groaned as I knew I just turned her on. She told me she hated me then hung up. I chuckled as I put on my clothes and went down stairs. I made some cereal just as Marie came down the stairs dressed and with her back pack on. Marie is actually in 1st grade. About a year ago they gave her this test which she absolutely aced, so they let her skip kindergarten.
I smiled as I watched her struggle to get onto the stool. I am always proud to call this annoying smart girl my daughter. She is amazing in every way and I'm proud to say I raised her. Whenever she finally got onto the stool she was out of breath making me chuckle. Marie glared at me and then started eating her cereal. I wasn't really hungry so I just packed me a banana for later.
Marie finished her cereal and I did a double check to make sure we both had everything. We both then left the house and went to the car. I buckled Marie up and then left. Her school isn't close to our house but is close to my office. And honestly I would rather have it that way.
I walked her to the front door and then kissed her goodbye. I watched as she left but made sure she waved at me before she went in. I smiled to myself as I went back to the car and made my way to work.
The building that I opened is about six stories high, filled with glass, and is very glorious on the inside. I made sure to put my time and effort into this place because I wanted whoever to come here to feel welcome in every way. The first three floors were shopping areas. The first were filled with clothes. Second floor was jewelry, and the third was were you went if you wanted to make a custom item.
The other three were for some of the people who worked here. The fourth floor was were calls were made about shipping items and the fifth was mainly a conference place. And finally the sixth floor was all mine. I know I don't really need a whole floor to myself but I sometimes walk around with no pants on and I don't need anyone to see that.
There were a few people who were aloud on this floor but it was only people I was close to. Like my assistant who I met a few years back. Her name is Amanda and she is so nice. She is honestly like my hype man. I walked into the building and went up to my floor.
Once the elevator doors opened Amanda was leaning up against it smiling. I rolled my eyes as I went to give her a side hug. We've been friends for about two years now and I mainly hired her to give me some energy. Amanda really is a party person but when the time comes she gets down to business and is never late. "Judging by how you look, I'm going to go say you went out last night." I stopped walking and looked at her.
"How did you know? I don't look that bad." Amanda chuckled as she grabbed my wrist.
"When you're distracted in the mornings, you always forget your watch." I looked at my wrist to see that my watch wasn't there. That watch was something my mother gave to me and I didn't want to start wearing it until I felt worthy of it. "Plus I saw you." I scoffed and rolled my eyes.
"How come you didn't come over?"
"Well you were busy sticking you tongue down Georgina's throat." My cheeks turned red as I turned away and walked towards my office. Amanda started laughing at me and asked when Layla and I started seeing one another, instead of answering I closed my office door in her face, but that didn't help because I could still hear her laughing on the other end.
The rest of the day consisted of me answering calls and sighing off a few things. I did go downstairs though to see how everything was going. This one woman came onto the second floor looking for a ring. I was definitely happy to help her as she told me she was looking for the perfect one for her to propose to her wife.
She then went on and told me how they met in high school and have now been together for ten years and it was time to put a ring on it. I was smiling like an i***t the whole time as we finally came to the perfect one. I gave her a discount on it as I made her promise to send me a video of her reaction. She thanked me and also hugged me. I had some of them people wrap the ring and she then left.
I then got back into the elevator and sighed as I was going back to my office. But before the elevators could close a hand stopped it. I looked up to see Layla smiling a little at me. I smiled back as she got into the elevator with me. "Did you not hear me calling you?" She asked. I shook my head.
"Sorry, I was in my thoughts." She nodded her head.
"Well I saw what you did for that woman. It was nice." I smiled and looked down.
"Well I always love a good lesbian story." We both chuckled as the elevator opened. I led Layla to my office and then went to go sit down behind my desk. Layla came up to me and sat down in the chair that was in front of my desk.
"Gina said you wanted to talk to me." Layla slowly nodded her head as she put it down. I watched as she played with her fingers telling me she was scared. I don't know why because Layla has always been the confident one. I then realized she started playing with the ring on her finger. She always did that when she was more than scared. I sighed as I never like when she felt that way.
"I never wanted to leave you." I said. This caught her attention as she looked up at me. I knew she was planning to ask me how I've been and what I've been up to but I also knew those weren't the questions she wanted to ask me. All in all that was what it was going to come to. "When I did end up leaving, there was pang in my chest that hurt knowing that I left you." I sighed.
She didn't say anything but continued to look at me. There were thoughts running in her head and I knew what they were. "You couldn't be with me because of a problem." She said. I nodded my head.
"And now I don't have a problem." She continued to stare at me because she knew what I was hinting at. Honestly, I always did want to be with Layla, she was sweet, funny, also understood me and never pressured me. Before she could say anything my phone started dinging. I took it out my pocket and saw it was a reminder I had to go get Marie. I looked up from my phone to see so much hope and confusion in her eyes. I sighed as I stood up. "I have to go get Marie. Want to tag along?" Now confusion took over her face.
"You, want me to come?" I nodded my head.
"I have a feeling you have questions." She nodded her head and then stood up. We left the building and into my car it was silent for a while and I didn't bother her because I knew she was thinking.
"Have you talked to either one of them?" Layla asked. I was quite for a minute because the thoughts of the last time I came in contact with them came to me.
"No." Was all I said. She was going to ask something else but I stopped the car. We were across the street from Maries school. "Ill be back." I walked into the school putting on a fake smile for everyone. Emotions were running through my head and I knew if they took over me everyone would know there's something wrong with me. "Hey beautiful, you ready?" I asked Marie as I squatted down in front of her.
She slowly nodded her head. I squinted my eyes at her because I could tell there was something wrong. "Sweetheart, what's wrong?" She looked at me and I saw a small tear roll down her eye. I quickly whipped it and brought her into a hug.
"T-they were making f-fun of me because I'm younger than them." I hugged her even tighter. Frustration was running through me but I tried to hide it.
"Sweetheart, you are smart and beautiful, always remember that. They are jealous that you're smarter than them, that's why they make fun of you. Don't let the words a few kids affect you. The only opinion that matters is yours. And mines of course." I got a small laugh out of her. I pulled her away from me and smiled. "There's that smile." Her smile grew as she hugged me again.
"Can we go get ice cream?" I rolled my eyes and chuckled.
"Of course. But do you mind if my friend tags along?"
"It still amazes me how you have friends." I scoffed and lightly hit her arm as she chuckled. I always hated to see my baby cry. She is a gifted little girl and everyone should love her. I took Maries hand and made our way back to the car. I knocked on the glass of my car and Layla stepped out.
"We're going to get some ice cream. And seeing that its down the road we are going to walk. You want to come?" Layla looked down at Marie and smiled.
"I would love to."
"Yeah! Let's go." Marie started pulling my arm causing both Layla and I to laugh. We walked to the ice cream store and got some ice cream. I got Pineapple, Marie got mint chocolate chip, and Layla got vanilla.
"You are so plain." Marie told Layla. I laughed as I agreed. Layla rolled her eyes as we all started walking back outside. We decided to just walk around town until our ice creams were gone. We all talked and Layla asked Marie questions about herself to which Marie was happy to answer. Layla was astonished by Maries vocabulary and how much she knew. The entire time I was smiling at Marie because she is my daughter.
We came to a stop as Marie went to go throw her paper towel away. "If you could would you be with me?" I looked over at Layla to see her staring at me. I knew that question has been in her the whole time because she looked like she was thinking the whole time. I whipped my hands with the napkin and smiled at her.
"There's nothing stopping me." Laylas smile grew as Marie came back to us and took my hand. We made our way back to the car and Layla was smiling the whole damn time. I ended up slipping my hand into Layla and Maries and for a moment I felt like my family was complete. After a few minutes I felt Layla slowly let go of my hand. I looked at her confused and saw her looking like she saw a ghost. I looked in front of us to see her staring at two people in front of us.
I didn't recognize who they were until they were about ten feet away from them. There walking towards us was Skylar and Melanie. Both of their eyes went to me. I let go of Laylas hand and tightened my grip on Maries hand. Skylar looked down and looked at Marie and so did Melanie. They both slightly smiled which only made me grip her hand tighter.
Once we were right in front of one another all my sense went out of control but thankfully they left as soon as they passed up. I could feel their eyes on us the entire time as we walked to the car. I buckled up Marie in her seat and got into the the car. I didn't dare look at Layla but I knew she was looking at me.
She tried to grab my hand but I moved it. I know that was a little harsh but I was too scared right now. "Is your car back at my office." She nodded her head. I made my way to the building and dropped her off. She tried to talk to me but I didn't say anything. She then sighed and told me she'll see me around and left.
I looked back at Marie to see her licking the left of the ice cream that she spilled on herself off. I then turned back around and felt a small tear roll down my eye.
I can't go through this again.
