The Lonely Goblin

When I was young, I heard so many stories about goblins from old people in my town. They all say that the goblin kidn*pped some people to be their bride and after they make you a bride the goblin will eat you alive. Even you’re a boy or a girl; the goblins make you a bride. They all say that the goblins live in the forest where we always pass to go to the city. All of them in my town are afraid of the goblin. Even my family is afraid, my father always told me to be cautious if I’m going outside when I was young. I mean, it’s stupid to be afraid without seeing evidence that the goblin is true. When a young me want to play outside, I attempt to go play outside but my parents caught me. They ground me in my room and didn’t give me food for the night.   I was angry with my parents because I don’t have the freedom to play outside after all they were afraid that the goblins will take me. The young me love fictional stories before but when I’m getting older the stories that they make about the goblins are nonsense. Someone punched me in my head “Aykill, you’re daydreaming again!” It’s my boss in the construction worker who wakes me up in that stupid dream. I immediately stand up and rubbed my neck “I’m sorry, boss” the boss tapped me on my shoulder “Aykill, you’re working so hard again. Do you want to have a day off? You can…” I clasp his hand and looking at him happily. "Boss?!” He looked at me like ‘seriously did you expect me to tell you that look. My eyes sparkle and nod my head excitedly. My boss sigh, “You can have a day off but only because you are my best employee in the city.” I fake cry to tease my boss “Don’t you dare tease me with that stupid fake cry of yours” he said, I laughed at what he said to me “Thank you, boss.” I said and ran off to pack my things.   “Aykill, I forgot to tell you that you need only 2 months to…” before he finished the sentenced I run to get a ticket wagon. I am excited to go home to my town. I say goodbye to my friends and co-workers for a while.   “Aykill, bring some aunties' delicious bread when you get back!” My friend shouted “OKAY!” I shouted back and wave at them to say goodbye.   It was late at night when we traveled to my town. I recognize some people who live in my town. “Auntie Shien, are you going home too,” I said and sit beside her, she look at me and was shocked to see me “Aykill, It’s that you?” I smiled at her “You change. From a young and naughty boy to a handsome man” she pinched my cheeks; I laughed at what she said to me. It’s been 5 years when I didn’t come home because of work. I was 18 years old when I leave the town to work. I miss my family and my friends in my town. I smiled at Auntie Shien “I’m still handsome, auntie shien” I jokingly said to her, she chuckled “Well, you didn’t change, young man” she said while tapping my shoulder. We talk about how I was doing in the city and my work.   The wagon that we ride stops midway, I was confused and glance outside. The driver and his people are talking. It’s like they have a problem. I go out, “Hey man, what’s the problem here?” I asked, they are sweating heavily like they saw someone terrifying. “Young man, you need to go in. Now.” I look at them confusedly. I see someone in their back “I-I-in your back” I stutter, it’s big and hideous. They turn their backs and see someone hideous. “It’s a GOBLIN! Ahhhh” they ran to the wagon. My body froze, “Young man, get inside quickly!” the driver shout at me but my body can’t move. “Tsk. We’re going to leave you behind!” I hear the wagon moving, please don’t leave me here. I can’t say it or shout my mouth is being zipped, my mind is blank. I look at the goblin and fainted. I don’t know what happened after I fainted.
