My actions come naturally. I kept my rifle at the ready and the weight of the 9 mil on my thigh gave me a comfort I can never explain. The knives were secured in the waistband of my pants my hair must have resembled Medusa at this point but I couldn't care less I was ready to move. I turned to the doctor, "I need to know the layout of this place, so i can get to the fighting." I told him. He looked at me dumbfounded but i was the soldier in this moment. "Look if i am going to keep my promise, I need you to focus up doc. We are in a battle and your people are going to suffer if you don't." He cleared his throat when i told him that.
"Yes ma'am. I am sorry." After that he told me the layout and how to get clear of the hospital and how to get to where the fighting was taking place. I told him to stay put in the storage room and to lock the door before i left. Its time to make the angel of death work overtime.
I cleared the hallway as i left the storage room. I ran into three of the institutes lackeys and tapped them as i continued out of the hospital. When i finally got out of that God forsaken place I went straight for the sounds of gun fire. When i arrived, i saw a battle field of corpses. Why were there wolves here? I was so confused. Then i spotted it. The giant black wolf with ice-blue eyes that was on the cliff that day. It looked at me and continued fighting. Its actions, Its movements were beautiful and each growl and snarl resonated in my bones. It was a glorious creature. As i watched i saw an operative from the institute aim at him. Before i could think i raised my rifle and shot the operative before he could pull the trigger. The wolf and I fought side by side feeding off of each other's violence. I shot 18 rounds before the bolt locked back and the M-4 was out of ammunition. I pulled out my 9 mil and shot ten rounds before that was out too. I pulled out my knives and i danced with them as an extension of my arms. I was deadly in combat and they knew it. I had the operatives in front of me and the wolf to my back. One raised their rifle and i threw my knife with accuracy hitting him in the throat. The next one did the same and before i knew it the wolf attacked the third. I threw my last knife and the battle was over.
I didn't count how many there were, I never did, I didn't want it on my conscious. I looked over to the wolf, "Thank you Wolfie." I told him not really knowing where that came from. Then i felt it, the pain of everything hit me at once. The cut in my leg, the injuries from the cliff, and the exhaustion of the battle. I felt myself collapse and i drifted off into the black abyss. The town was safe and i kept my promise to the doctor.
