~MATHIAS'S POV~
I tried to move, tried to reach Tate. But my body wouldn't respond. Whatever Heriberto had hit us with, it had broken something whole. Beside me, Daxon was equally helpless. We could only watch as the warlock prepared to kill our mate.
"Silas," I managed to gasp through the Pack link. "Help her. Someone help her."
"We're trying, Alpha," Silas's voice came back, strained. "But there's a problem. Someone's sabotaging us from the inside. Our magic users can't access their power. The wards are failing. It's like something's blocking our connection to the Pack's energy."
"Who?" Daxon snarled, the sound barely more than a rasp.
"We don't know yet. But they're close to the central ley line convergence. Whoever it is has access to Pack magic at its source."
