Later that day, I received a message . The message came through Pack link just after breakfast. A scout had spotted a Nightshade warrior at the territory border with a sealed letter.
My name was written on the outside in elegant script. No formal title.
Just "Tate." I opened it carefully, aware that Mathias and Daxon were watching over my shoulder.
"To Tate Osborne: I request a private meeting, neutral ground. Midway between our territories. I have information that affects us both, Information about Heriberto's true plans. Come alone or bring guards. I don't care. But come because this is important. - Marcus Blackthorn"
"It's definitely a trap," Daxon said immediately.
"Maybe," I agreed. "But he's offering information about Heriberto. That's valuable."
