. . . . . . (early July)
Aiden dropped to the ground screaming. It looked like he was having a seizure. It sounded like he was dying. Fear gripped me when he shifted. His wolf was clearly lost, his eyes glowed red but they were flat, no life showed past the rage and grief.
Grief!
I bolted from the room. Sinah must be dying for this to happen to Aiden.
]]:DOCTOR.:[[
I twisted my body to change my trajectory and I heard something smash behind me, followed by screaming, in front of me as well as from behind. I slammed into the infirmary door, ripping it from its hinges and I launched through the open office door, tackling the last person I expected to be pulling a syringe out of Sinah's neck. Sinah was screaming, her body was starting to arch out of her chair in pain.
]]:GET DOWN.:[[
My body reacted automatically, skidding away and behind a desk as the window exploded inward, Aiden's golden wolf ripping chunks of the wall away trying to get into the room in his madness. A sudden, blinding flash made him freeze for a second, and Sinah's scream sounded different. I lifted my head and watched her shift into a gigantic silver wolf, easily the same size as Aiden's wolf.
She threw her head back and howled and the sound made me shiver as warmth washed over me. Joy. That was all that was in her voice. Aiden's wolf was just as affected as I was, his eyes cleared abruptly, and he lifted his head to howl with her.
Then she fainted.
]]:WAIT.:[[
I froze, I didn't even realize I had tried to move.
"AIDEN MARCUS SOLEIS!! SHIFT BACK! NOW!" The command in the voice was overwhelming, but nothing after the one in my head.
"For crying out loud! She was only dead for like two seconds! Stop acting like a fool this instant!"
What?
]]:GET AIDEN, PLEASE.:[[
I jumped over the desk and grabbed Aiden's arm, flipping him with my momentum and pinned him to the floor. His face and chest were streaked with blood. He didn't even react, he was frozen. I could hear wolves running towards us.
"ALPHA DEREK! HERE!" He burst into the room, eyes black and body shaking with emotion. He dropped in front of Aiden when he saw me holding him down and he reached out to touch his shoulder.
"Aiden! Are you sane?" Aiden blinked and jumped like he'd been hit by lightning, coming alive under me in a panic state.
"HOLYFUCKWHATTHESHIT??" He was trying to get to Sinah's wolf, so I let go of him and he scrambled to her side.
"Aiden! What the fück happened?" He sat cross-legged on the floor suddenly, his voice coated with confusion.
"I have no idea, Derek." He turned his head and looked at Derek and blinked. "Aw fück man, you were right-handed." My jaw dropped. Of all the...
"YOU SCARED THE SHÏT OUT OF US, DESTROYED THE PACKHOUSE, AND RIPPED OFF MY FÜCKING ARM. WHAT. THE. FÜCK. HAPPENED?"
"I really don't know, man, but you are going to have to shake hands with the general as a lefty now." Derek gaped at him. I gaped at him.
Then Derek decked him and knocked his stupid ass out.
/:Aw, he beat us to it.:/ I nodded and put my hand on Derek's shoulder. He was breathing heavily, trying to calm down. At least Aiden being an idïot broke everyone out of the panic state we had all been in. Sinah's wolf shivered, and she shifted back to normal, groaning softly. I finally noticed Luna Marie outside the hole in the wall Aiden had made when she yelped and clutched her stomach.
"Areyoufuckingkiddingme-aaaaAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
So much for that pause in everyone's panicking. Derek rushed to his mate as her contraction made her double over in pain.
/:DOGS.:/ I scoffed; this whole day has been one crazy thing after the other. Mir joined my senses, and we glanced around. Sinah was starting to wake up and was naked. Aiden was still knocked out, covered in blood, and was also naked. Luna Marie was in labor, Alpha Derek was missing an arm and needed medical attention immediately. We were in the infirmary, but Gigi was the pack doctor, and she was dead. We had a weird feeling she was already dead when we tackled her. It was very strange.
We pitched our voice low, projecting as loud as we could.
"RIVER TALON! TRANSPORT YOUR LUNA! TAKE HER TO YOUR MIDWIFE, NOW!" We whipped our head around as wolves began to scramble to do what we were yelling. "ALPHA DEREK MUST BE TAKEN TO A HUMAN DOCTOR. IMMEDIATELY, WE CANNOT TREAT HIM HERE! NOW!" We ripped a curtain out of the debris and handed it to Sinah to cover herself with.
"ALPHA AIDEN CAUSED INCREDIBLE DAMAGE, MAKE SURE NO ONE GOT CAUGHT IN THE RUBBLE OR IS HURT!" There we go, the three most important things were now being taken care of. The wolves obeyed us without questioning, not because we had the authority, simply because we were a sudden voice of reason and gave everyone goals to focus on.
"Um... Bryce?" Mir separated from me, and I knelt down next to Sinah.
"Yes?"
"What the fück just happened?"
"Sinah, that is the question of the day. We have no idea at the moment, but as far as I can tell, the whole world has gone mad." She looked around, blinking in confusion. Her gaze stopped on the corpse, and she took a shaky breath.
"Gigi..." She winced like her head hurt. "Ah!" I grabbed her shoulders in concern.
"Sinah!" She blinked a couple times, tears in her eyes.
"s-she k-killed m-m-me." I remembered the syringe she had, and I glared involuntarily at the corpse. I stood up and lifted Sinah to her feet.
"We need to get you dressed first." Her fingers dug into my arms suddenly, her nails digging into my skin. I hissed reflexively and looked at her. She was staring at the floor, eyes wide.
"What's wrong?" Her entire body was trembling.
"Bryce?"
"What's wrong, Sinah?" I was starting to worry. Again.
"I'm standing." Her eyes stared into mine for a few seconds.
Then she fainted.
/:She does that a lot.:/ I nodded and lifted Sinah into my arms to carry her when the torn curtain slid out of her limp fingers and what she had said registered in my brain. My eyes shot wide.
Both of her legs were in perfect condition.
And someone was fücking screaming again.
