The Beginning
“Take my daughter!” The man yelled.
The smoke was so thick I couldn’t see him. All I was focused on was the flames devouring the walls around us. I nodded and ran out of the home, her lifeless body in my arms. Sirens blaring in the distance.
I finally stopped running in the forest behind the house, turning around to see an orange glow through the trees. Red and blue lights arriving. I heard it as soon as we were out, the fire had caused the roof to cave. The man and woman didn’t make it out. The fire department was too late.
Looking down I saw her beautiful face against my chest. She was stunning! Her dark brown hair soft skin and full pink lips. If circumstances were different I would have leant down and kissed her. My wolf growled hungrily at that thought.
“We need to go, take her to pack, it will be safe there.”
My wolf was right, her parents were gone. Her home was gone. She belonged with us.
I took off running into the forest with the angels lifeless body in my arms.
I knew she was a wolf. Her scent gave it away. But why was she in a human home? Did she know she was a wolf? Who was she? These questions raced in my mind as I ran.
Finally I saw the lights of the pack house. Thank Luna because I was exhausted. Just as I stopped on the border three patrols walked out of the shadows.
“Alpha what happened?” One of them asked.
“There was a fire, her family is dead.” I panted.
“Alert my father, they were wolves living near the human village. He must go meet with the responders.” I was finally catching my breath.
“What about the girl sir? I can take her to the pack doctor?”
My wolf growled, “No I will take her!”
They each took a step back and looked at me in shock.
“She is my responsibility for now, just alert the alpha.” I said as calm as I could with my wolf still agitated. I turned and began walking to the pack hospital, the angel still unconscious in my arms.
