Rae’s POV The week had gone by quickly. I had been so busy, and there was no sign of it slowing down. I had been to see Grams to ask her how the council knew about the accident, and if she had told them. She said she hadn’t but had assumed that the council had a way of knowing. I figured she was probably right, they were incredibly powerful. Even though Mum had tried to run with us, Grams said she had warned Mum that they would probably have people tracking us, or at least keeping tabs on us. She worried Mum and Dad would be jailed from the minute she left, and we would be subjected to them. She never dreamed it would ever come to their deaths, instead. Grams assumed that when we didn’t come home that night, whoever it was from the council keeping tabs on us, went looking for us. Sh
