The line clicked softly before Beta Louis’s voice came through, calm and steady, just what Giselle needed at the moment. A friendly presence, someone to keep her from going insane. Hopefully, it came with good news too. “Giselle.” Her fingers tightened around the phone. Hearing his voice made her chest loosen, finally able to breathe. “How is she?” The question escaped her before she knew it. There was a long pause.
