The Boy Who Wanted to See Jesus
Once, in a small town, there lived a little boy who had a big dream. He wanted to see Jesus very much. He saw his pictures in the church and the other times he went there, but wanted to see him up close. She wanted to talk to him, listen to him and tell him how much she loved him.
So one morning she decided to find him. He started from his home and walked many hours until he reached a big city. There he asked many people if they knew where he might find Jesus, but no one could tell him.
When it was already evening, he found himself in a small church on the edge of town. It was dark and the lights of the church shone through the windows. The little boy thought that Jesus might be there. So, he approached and opened the door.
Inside the church, he saw a priest praying. The little boy approached him and said, “Lord, I want very much to see Jesus. Can you tell me where he is?”
The priest smiled and said to him, “My dear, Jesus is all around us. It is in the sun that rises every morning, in the flowers that bloom in spring, in the birds that sing and in the children playing. If you want to see Jesus, just look around you and you will find him.”
The little boy understood what the priest meant and decided to return home. All the way back, he looked around and saw Jesus everywhere. The flowers that put out their scent, the birds that sang and the children who played.
When he got home, his mother asked him where he went and what he was doing all day. The little boy explained to her that he went to find Jesus but could not find him. Then his mother took him in her arms and said to him: “My dear, Jesus is in you. He is in your heart and if you love and respect him, then you will find him everywhere around you.”
The little boy understood what his mother meant and from that moment on, he began to see Jesus all around him. In the sun that rises every morning, in the flowers that bloom in spring, in the birds that sing and the children who play.
And so, the little boy realized that he did not need to walk far to find Jesus. He was all around him, it was enough only to look for him with his heart. And he did that every day, ever since and forever.
Finally.
