CHARLOTTE REALIZATION "Step into the car!" I heard a commanding voice behind me and I quickly jumped out of my thoughts. I just realized I had been lost in thoughts all this while. I was being dragged to the garage but it never crossed my mind. "You must think you were selected by me because of your elegance huh?" Alpha Freeman asked. This time, his voice didn't sound close to how calm he had been before now. His eyes stayed glued to mine, piercing my heart deeply. I could hear my heart beating aggressively as I was forced to get into the Alpha's car. As soon as I stepped in, he didn't hesitate to come in also. In no time, the doors were shut and the car zoomed off instantly. *** Right from the moment I was being forced to get into the car, I realized I had just gotten myself in some sort of trouble. Could it be possible that Alpha Freeman was the direct opposite of what Celine preached him to be? That would indeed be ridiculous of her to do so. The car went dead with silence as long as the ride lasted. I had no clue what awaited me, but I just had to be hopeful that it was all in my imagination and that the Alpha was never a beast. Unfortunately, I was proven wrong in less than no time. As soon as the car pulled up in the palace garage, Alpha Freeman stepped out arrogantly, leaving me no clue. I was left to figure myself out all by myself. He never behaved like he had just returned home with a visitor. He retired into the manor, and in the next minute, I could see some of the maids running around hurriedly, to and fro the manor. I was drawn to confusion, to the extent that I had to confront one of them when I could no longer stand the drama. "What's going on? You all have been running Helter skelter for some time now since the Alpha returned. Is anything the matter?" The maid shot an aggressive glare at me, her eyes unwelcoming. She turned to return to her duty. I could clearly understand what was going on. They were all probably trying so hard to serve the Alpha his meal. But why do they have to race in that manner like someone was after them? And now, the maid I had called earlier for clarifications acted like I never existed. What really could be going on? What seemed like butterflies in my belly when the Alpha had chosen me, suddenly disappeared. I could no longer feel any excitement. Instead, all I did was stand there and look around like a lost sheep about to wander. "The Alpha seeks your presence immediately." I heard a masculine voice beside me while I battled with endless thoughts. Turning around, I saw one of the guards standing by me, his hand stretched forth towards me. My heartbeat tripled. Why exactly could he be calling me this time around? Now I clearly understood what everyone had been saying about him all this while. Unfortunately I was so blinded by what Celine had told me, thereby not paying a single attention to anyone else. I reluctantly gave my hand to the guard, and he tightened his grip around me as he led me into the manor. With my head lowered to the floor, I could still feel Alpha Freeman's piercing eyes hovering around me. The manor was still and quiet, yet I could hear the echoes of different voices in my ear. I was losing it. I couldn't stand his presence for so long, but I had no choice in this case. I felt a finger beneath my jaw, attempting to raise my head. Although hesitantly, I raised my head to behold the person doing this. The moment my eyes met with those of the Alpha, I froze instantly, unsure of what to say to him. His stares were cold with hatred, his eyes blazing with furiousness. The cute angel I had come to fall in love with was suddenly acting like a beast on its own. A surge of panic coursed into my veins. I wasn't sure of what I was thinking, but I knew quite well that I was in for doom. The joke was obviously on me to think that he was going to be all nice to me for no particular reason. I had trusted Celine so well and believed everything she had told me about him. Now what did I get in return? Lies and deceit! This was way too much than what I could handle. I could feel my legs trembling on the floor as his figure became clearer to me. I wanted to run, but my legs seemed to fail me at this point. He suddenly stopped where he was standing, turning his back at me. He turned to the guards and laughed mysteriously. "Take her in and lock her up till I say otherwise." He ordered and returned to his seat. The guards were nothing less than him. They were just as mean and ruthless as he was. Despite my attempts to be let out of their grip, they tightened their hands around me more firmly than I could ever imagine. I finally surrendered myself to them when it was obvious that I could do nothing to help myself out. I couldn't help but let my thoughts take over me as they dragged me into the inner chambers. I drooled with panic as the people's warning began to resound in my ears. It all suddenly made sense now. Will I ever be able to help myself out of this situation?
