(Aiden)
I twirl my spoon around my bowl of soup while pretending to listen to Darla. She is talking about some gossip that I could honestly care less about. I cut into my steak, the only thing I had been looking forward to this entire night, and my eyes could have easily given that away.
“Aiden, are you listening to me?” Darla snaps me out of my trance, she is rolling her eyes while looking at me.
“Sorry I am just famished, I didn’t have much of a chance to eat today.” I tried to mellow out her mood by putting the blame on food, something she couldn’t get mad at.
“Your mom chose an amazing restaurant, we will have to come here more often.” As she says that I can feel her leg sliding up my pants, I shift a little in my chair as I see her giggling at me with a wink. Now that her mood was shifted, I could go back to dozing off and ignoring her, all the while thinking about Crystal in a club. The last word coursed through me, instantly filling me with rage as I started thinking about men dancing with her on her! Rage started to creep into me, and it was all I could do to mentally keep myself in check.
Why the f*ck are we here and not protecting what’s ours? Luca says with enough bite in his voice to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. His temper had left the building a long time ago, and he’s been seething ever since. She’s with Ben, I reminded him, hoping that answer would suffice for him.
Not the point I was making dumb*ss, how will anyone know she OURS if we are here entertaining this wh*re. That last part makes me choke on my wine. I try not to giggle as I compose myself. Darla doesn’t seem to notice as she is knee-deep in her own world of conversation with herself. I give a slight nod now and again, so she thinks I am registering everything.
“I just don’t understand how hard it is.” She says while shoving food into her mouth. “To think they could have just changed the arrangements instead of making me find a new caterer.” Sipping her wine seems to be the only pause she allows herself to take in the midst of all her complaining.
“You know what sounds fun.” I piped in while she took another bite of food, careful not to interrupt to not draw her suspicion. I can see her eyebrows raise in curiosity, as I now feel a heel of applied pressure onto my member which remained soft to the touch. Shifting my weight again ever so slightly, I spread a wicked grin across my face as I now had her attention. If done correctly, she won’t suspect a thing, Luca says with eager anticipation, as he knows what I’m thinking. Considering she’s an airhead, that was unnecessary but very true, and I can tell he was holding that one all evening.
“We should go out, I mean let loose and have a little fun.” I gave her a very convincing wink as I assured her to seal that deal. She narrows her eyes as she tightens her lips together.
“This wouldn’t have anything to do with Crystal, would it?” The loaded question. I could see her scanning my face for a reaction f*ck. I grabbed my wine as I let out a methodical chuckle. Taking a long gulp, trying to find the correct words.
“Baby.” I started as I c****d an eyebrow in her direction, making sure to use my hand to push her heel deeper into my member…no matter how much it was actually starting to hurt. “I have been eye f*cking you all night long, and all I want to do is dance a little before having you scream my name tonight.” I lower my voice while speaking, playing into the game she so desperately craves from me. Having been a playboy so long, the words come naturally to me, but the thrill I used to get from speaking them isn’t there anymore. That realization in itself hits me like a brick wall, a piece of my life is wanting to change for her. Is that what love is?
I almost trailed off again inside my own thoughts when I felt something brush against my neck. I side eye in time to see Darla has moved around the table swiftly and grazed her lips against my neck. Trailing up to my ear, she whispers. “Tonight is going to be one you won’t forget.” With that, she gives my earlobe a little nibble and a kiss. Luca is growling at this point while I pretend to be into it. After paying our tab and tipping generously, I get to work.
I mind Link Ben asking him where they are, hearing O’Malleys bring a smirk to the corners of my mouth. That is easily one of my favorite clubs that the boys and I frequent quite often as the owner and I are in business together, mind linking Buddy and Brady asking them the situation. Both tell me the same story about Crystal and V dancing together while they dance a few feet away with girls. Typical.
Pulling up to the club, I told the driver, Darryl, to head home and take the rest of the night off. Confused, Darla looks at me with narrow eyes. I told her I had it under control as we step out of the car and made our way to the entrance.
“My man.” I hear as a hand flings out towards me, pulling me into an embrace, it’s Steven the bouncer. He is O’Malley's head security guy, scary on the outside and a warm, likable guy on the inside. I whisper in his ear; asking him if my Beta and Gamma are at my table, he gives me a slow nod before furrowing his brow as if he is wondering he is doing something wrong. I quickly assured him they were supposed to be here and just making sure they were being taken care of appropriately, as it is very rare most of the time to see a Beta and Gamma without their Alpha around. I said my goodbyes to Steven, handing him a bill while giving him a wink, as I walked forward with Darla in hand.
Once inside, I scan the surrounding area, an Alpha habit that will never die. I head up to the bar with Darla as she orders a drink. I set eyes at the bartender, who instantly recognizes me. He gave me a short nod before continuing, my back in now to the bar as I keep observing the crowd. My gaze is cut short when I hear a shrill voice next to me, snapping my attention back around.
“I asked for 1800, and this is Blanco!” I saw Darla squeak as she was in the bartender's face. The sheer look of panic hits his face as he looks between Darla and I, terrified to even answer back.
“I am sorry, ma’am, but we ran out of 1800 an hour ago. My deepest apologies.” He is now in a frozen state as he holds the bottle spout in his hand, not sure what to do now.
F*cking princess makes me sick, Luca snarls through a low menacing growl. I do agree with him as I look at the innocent bartender who is just trying to do his job.
“Here, let's just take a shot and go find the boys.” I said while pulling two shot glasses from the counter that were quickly filled with tequila. We down the drinks before she looks at me and plants a kiss on my lips, giving me a moan before turning away and walking off. I roll my eyes as I face the bartender, whom I still don’t know the name of. I motion him forward with my index finger as I leaned onto the bar further. I can see the fear and hesitation in his posture as he obeys.
“Here.” I told him while handing him a $100 bill and stuffing it into his shirt pocket. His eyes widen as he begins to protest, wondering if he’s being tested. I stopped him while looking him in the eyes, “That was a poor display of what I represent, and I thank you for putting up with it.” I tapped his chest before nodding and turning away, at least I can try and rewrite Darla’s wrong doings.
I made my way through the crowd, having already mind linked Buddy and Brady a while ago about our arrival as well as Ben. I walk deeper in the club atmosphere, taking in everything around me, trying to locate my people. I felt an arm reach out and grab me. On instinct, I swiveled, narrowly missing the intercept.
“Easy man.” I looked and saw Ben holding up his hands to me. Just then, I saw Buddy leap through the air and grab Ben’s forearms from behind while laughing. Noticing my presence there, he immediately stood up straight and nodded to me. I kept a firm mask on as I slowly approached him. Before grabbing his head and shoving it under my arms, I laughed and gave him a nuggy.
We all broke into laughter and I scanned and saw Brady, some girls were grinding on his front and back as he danced with them while chugging a beer. I winked at him; he gave me a head nod as he excused himself from the tangle of women as he made his way over to us.
I noticed to my right that Darla had found my VIP booth and was drinking some gray goose, scanning the crowd as she did so. My attention was no longer on her as I caught the mouth-watering scent I had been searching for.
She’s here, Luca gasped with a happy wag and a playful whine. His excitement was contagious as I began to lighten myself up and my eyes found hers. My face slowly fell as I saw Valentina dancing with a guy and on her back was Crystal with a man dancing on her front. I began to growl when I saw Buddy immediately stop dancing to assess what I was targeting. I gave a nod of dismissal as I walked toward Crystal.
Luca started doing twirls when he smelled Crystal. I began to feel my heart picking up the closer I got. The scene before me, however, sent me into a rage like a thousand wolves.
