The Prophecy Luna

(Crystal) I bolted, fearing looking back with tears in my eyes. Rejected...but why?  I had done everything I was supposed to; I stayed pure, I obeyed my duties as an Omega.  Yet here I was, running through the woods, rejected by my own mate?! Clearing my head wasn’t an option as far as I was concerned, I just wanted to leave and never look back. Who was I to stay here when I was clearly unwanted? ****** Earlier that evening “Crystal, Ben, hurry up, we don’t want to show up late, that’s rude.” My mother scolds my brother and I, since we were taking forever getting ready.  Tonight, the Alphas were holding a party, which, for Alpha families, is a common thing. My father was a highly respected Omega warrior, as was my brother. My mother was a teacher, as well as an assistant to the former Luna. My whole family was very proud of who they were. That is everyone but me, who just graduated high school, not having a clue what to do. My parents told me there was plenty of time to do great things. But my education was important. I personally don’t think so.  When we arrived at the Packhouse it was already filled, everyone from our community was there. I immediately searched the room for my best friend Ally. She was the main reason I was OK being there.  Crystal! I heard a screech from behind me. I turn and see Ally racing towards me with open arms. We embrace as I look her up and down. She’s wearing a red satin dress with giant heels.  “I am so glad you're here, I definitely didn’t want to be alone”, I told her while rolling my eyes. Her expression changed slightly and her head made a slight turn.  “Where’s Ben? Did he not come” she asked, seemingly innocently. I smirk as I know she has a giant crush on him. “I think he’s somewhere probably talking with Alpha Aiden, but I mean we can go find him if you want”. At this, she gives me a flushed look and steps back, to which I burst out laughing in content. While chatting with some of the local members, I get a strange scent that floods my nose, so intoxicating it makes me want to howl. I rushed myself from the group and rushed toward the balcony. What was that, I asked my wolf Selena. Mate.  I covered my own mouth as I gasped in disbelief. How is that possible? No no, I thought I had more time! Time waits for no one babygirl. Selena howls at me, she is very amused by my reaction. I have to get out of here. This isn’t how my life is supposed to play out. I have plans for my life. I have so much to do!  I sneaked back inside and tried to rush to the door. Before I could reach it, I felt an arm stop me. It’s Ben.  “Hey kiddo, are you leaving? Mom and dad won’t be happy, and besides, it’s dark, don’t go alone. Give me an hour and I’ll take you.” He’s such a good brother always looking out for me, but I am afraid of being here another minute. Ben looks at me to analyze my expressions, his face turns hard as he looks at me. “What’s going on?” balcony, I tell him everything hoping he will understand, but to my dismay, he just laughs.  “Kid, finding a mate isn’t a game. Once you're mated, it’s for life, you can run. But that isn’t going to do much good. I wish I had found my mate by now, but the Moon Goddess has a plan for us all.” I feel irritated by this, if I don’t want one it should be my choice. “What if I’m not ready? What if he doesn’t like me?” I pleaded with Ben, trying not to cry on his shoulder. He lay on my head cooing to me smoothly, trying to calm my heart rate.  “OK, I’ll try.” I gave a smile as I walked back inside, feeling a weight on my chest. I head to the buffet trying to act normal; when I feel myself being pulled into a closet, god people need to stop yanking me.  I look up and see Alpha Aiden staring at me, his eyes black with lust.  “Crystal….what a pleasant surprise.” He says in a husky growl, a little sexy as I look at his chiseled jawline. I gulp loudly as I keep making eye contact with him, trying to read the situation. Mate..mate...MATE. Selena is howling in my head, pacing back and forth. I can feel her being restless in my head. “Your wolf is right little minx, it appears we are fated.” He steps closer to me inches from my face, his eyes locked on mine. I feel my breath shortening as I concentrate on his features; his chiseled jaw and fluffy dark brown hair, with piercing blue eyes. He looks at me while holding my face, closing the distance between us with a kiss.  Explosions erupted from within me, it was a fiery passion I had never felt. His tongue slips in my mouth without a fight as he explores, a moan escapes my lips as I fight the urge to rip his clothes off. I feel my arousal springing up in my body. I can sense his excitement as I feel his body vibrate, our kiss turns aggressive as he gets more excited. As I sense my body heating up, I feel a pause. He pulls away suddenly while looking at me with sad eyes. I sense a change in atmosphere and it confuses me. He takes a minute to inhale my scent before speaking.  “Crystal, I wish there was another way, but this can’t happen.” I gave him a look of shock and couldn't know what was about to come, and I didn’t stop it. My heart starts beating faster than I can blink, I hear Selena howling in my head. What was happening? Why was it happening to me? My brows were furrowed as Aiden began to speak.   “I, Alpha Aiden Smith of the Opal Moon pack, reject Crystal Jane as my mate and future Luna.” My eyes filled with tears as I stood there in shock, Selena was howling in sadness.  “I...I accept your rejection.” I mustered to say through my tears, not even understanding what just happened. He looked at me with heavy eyes. Why is he sad? Selena growled in dismay. “I really am sorry, I know you don’t understand, but it’s for the best, I promise.” He exits the closest, leaving me alone. I kneel on the ground feeling worthless, feeling lost. ***** Present moment After packing a bag, I prepared to leave. I left video messages for my parents, brother and Ally. I didn’t explain the full reasoning, I just told them that I had to leave and couldn’t come back.  My heart feels broken but I know now that I have to push it aside for now, I need to focus on where to run. Babygirl, do we even have a plan? Selena is worried as she paces and whines, she’s scared of leaving our home. I don't blame her. I promise, we will be OK. I'll make sure of it. I took off towards the woods, not daring to look back.
