Chapter 1
*Title ng Chapter:* The Maid Who Saw Everything
Kain Corp. 47th Floor. 11:47 PM.
Luna Morales had seen a lot of things in this penthouse.
Empty whiskey glasses. Torn contracts. Lipstick on Damian Kain’s collar that wasn’t his wife’s - because he didn’t have one.
Tonight, she saw something worse.
Her mop paused mid-swipe as the CEO’s office door slid open on its own. The security system was supposed to be locked.
“Damian? You still here?” a woman’s voice purred.
Luna dropped to her knees behind the marble pillar, heart hammering. She wasn’t supposed to be here. Cleaning crew left at 10 PM. But payroll was late again, and she needed the overtime.
Damian Kain stepped out, tie loosened, jaw tight. He looked dangerous even in his own office.
“I told you not to come here,” he said coldly.
The woman laughed. “And I told you, without my code, your new AI project is useless. 50 million dollars down the drain.”
Luna’s blood ran cold.
AI Project Omega. The project that could save Kain Corp from bankruptcy.
And someone was about to steal it.
The woman moved closer, hand reaching for Damian’s chest. “Be nice to me, nephew. I don’t want to sell your secrets to your rivals.”
Damian grabbed her wrist. “Touch me again, Aunt Selina, and I’ll have you arrested.”
Selina Kain. Damian’s aunt. Board member. And a traitor.
Luna knew what she had to do. If she called security, she’d get fired for being here after hours. If she did nothing, her job was gone anyway when the company collapsed.
She made a choice.
Luna slipped out from behind the pillar and walked straight into the office.
“Ma’am,” she said quietly, holding up her phone. “You’re on camera.”
Selina froze.
Damian turned, and for the first time, he really looked at her.
“You,” he said. “You’re supposed to be off shift.”
Luna didn’t blink. “You’re supposed to be more careful who you trust, Mr. Kain.”
Selina recovered fast. She lunged for Luna’s phone.
Big mistake.
Luna dodged, slid behind Damian, and used his body as a shield. She was smaller, faster. Years of hiding taught her that.
“Delete that,” Selina hissed.
“No,” Luna said.
Damian stared at her. Not at her face. At her eyes.
“Who are you?” he asked quietly.
Luna smiled.
“Just the maid, Mr. Kain,” she said. “But I know how to stop the hack. If you’re willing to listen.”
Selina laughed. “She’s bluffing.”
Luna looked at Damian.
“Your firewall has a backdoor on Line 4473,” she said. “I saw it when I was cleaning last night. Your IT team missed it.”
Damian’s face changed.
Because Line 4473 was exactly where Selina was trying to get in.
For a second, the office was silent.
Then Damian grabbed Luna’s arm.
“Office. Now,” he said.
And just like that, the maid who owned 51% of Kain Corp stepped into the lion’s den.
