Frantically, Claire searched the room for something, anything that might help her put it into words. That small globe on the nightstand. That would do. Standing left her feeling dizzy,
She held the globe up for the others. “Imagine this is all there is,” she said. “All of our universe is represented by this sphere.” They nodded. “We’re inside it. Like down near the mantle or whatever. But the Overseer is just barely touching the surface.”
Lauren sat with her back against the wall, hugging her knees. She nodded along as if it all made perfect sense. “But at the same geographic coordinates,” she said. “Same latitude and longitude but higher up.”
