Anillis was scared. He’d been locked up before, but never like this. Two days ago, he was drugged chained and placed in this room. That was after he tried running away after he overheard his parents talking about him replacing his brother secretly after the emperor announced that his brother would marry the Regent. Rumors about the regent were terrifying, no one in the kingdom had not heard about them, even though he who has been locked up most of his life has heard servants talking about them. He was strong and impulsive; he could kill without warning and being near him when he loses control is enough to make anyone go mad. He was a general for the kingdom’s army most of his life but was attacked by mental power that caused a disconnection between his human part and beast part making him unable to reign with his beast and not able to gain control of his mental power. He was a very strong man without the ability to control himself, if it were not for his merit and his ancestors merit the emperor would have had him killed, since that was not possible, he was sent to a planet in the outskirts of the empire for his and the empires safety. A few weeks ago, his brother turned eighteen and his mental power was tested and found to be above A class and the emperor decided to marry him to the regent. Despite his parents begging nothing could be done, the emperor’s decision was final, so they decided to send their good for nothing son and have him replace the talented one. He tried running away but he was caught by the guards of the estate and drugged, when he woke up, he was in a dark room no room was an understatement, it was a huge hall with chains on his hand. He could see a shadow of a huge beast slowly breathing growling with each exhale. He was scared stiff hardly moving fearing that even breathing wrongly would wake the beast. He sat huddled in the corner of the grand room, knees drawn close, heart thudding wildly in his chest. He looked at the other corner, food was dropped through a shoot every six hours, he was counting, their were ten plates meaning he had been in the room for more than two days hardly moving he was starting to get exhausted both mentally and physically, he could hardly keep his eyes open. Just as he was about to give up and sleep the beast in the corner shifted, he could hear sniffing then he locked his eyes with crimson ones and immediately slumped down all strength leaving his body. THUMP The beast stood up, it tilted its head looking at him as if gaging something then sniffed again. THUMP It started moving towards him. He closed his eyes praying for a quick death, but it never came he looked up again and saw the beast towering above him eyes that were previously crimson were now a striking golden, they seemed intelligent and almost…human. The beast leaned down sniffing him then closed its eyes and lay down next to him and closed its eyes. Grr A sound cut through the echoing hall, the beast opened its eyes and Anillis stiffened but the beast looked at him then at the food on the other side, it used its tail and dragged two plates in front him and stared. Seeing he wasn’t moving it growled lowly, Anillis quickly picked up a plate and pushed the food down, lacking appetite but forced by the beasts stare. Surprisingly after swallowing he felt fatigue easing and mental energy returning. It was food cooked by plants grown by a plant mentalist and high rank one. Once his fatigue eased all that was left was comfort and he relaxed unknowingly. Suddenly the beast started sniffing again and locked his eyes with him Anillis stiffened again watching the beast’s body start to spasm and tighten, he could see the muscles cramp under its fur, the loud breathing of the beast became shallow and the muscles on its chest started moving, no it looked like like they were realigning. Suddenly, the cold room became hot and the beast started growling loudly and occasionally whining. CRACK He could hear the familiar sound of bones breaking as the beast’s front legs looked like they were rotating and its claws were retracting, and humanlike fingers appeared the shoulders of the beast narrowed its pelvis tilted forcing the beast to stand and its ears moved down and its tail retracted with a loud crack. The huge mountain fur receded in the skin like hair meeting fire, the skin revealed was red looking very sensitive but that soon faded. Leaving behind a human naked drenched in sweat and clenching his teeth. He fell on his knees and his eyes kept shifting between golden and red clearly in pain. That was the most horrifying thing he’d ever witnessed Suddenly a loud beeping Noise was heard, and the huge doors opened a group of people wearing very heavy armor walked in and covered the man and helped him stand Others approached him but the man growled sound even louder than the beasts. The armored men stepped back and one of them urged him forward. Although reluctant and still in shock, he moved and the beasts, no man’s eyes left him. Before he could take more steps, his eyes went black, and he fell the last thing he heard was a growl.
