Chapter 4

Alpha Francis’ P.O.V.

“Are you sure you want to keep Jessica as your acting Luna? You know she has always neglected her duties and it’s not fair for your mother to keep picking up her slack.” Joan said to me over the phone.

“I don’t know. I will talk to Freddy about it. He said he spoke to Anthony about drawing up the divorce papers. He should have them ready tomorrow.” I said to her.

“Honestly, I hope he is ready for a fight. You know that Jessica came from nothing. Dating and marrying Fred is what gave her the luxuries that she got used to. I don’t think she is going to be ready to give them up.” Joan said.

The sad part about this is that Joan wasn’t lying. I hung up the phone and waited for Kali. I dropped off Freddy at the restaurant so he could get everything ready for our date. We asked her co-workers what kind of food she liked and they told us Italian was her favorite.

Freddy and I met Jessica in high school. Her parents were not rich, they literally did not have any money. Even though Jessica’s mom was an omega that worked in our home as a maid, her husband had an addiction to gambling, drinking, and drugs.

Freddy started talking to her when we were in our senior year because of a prank but he got comfortable with her too fast. He introduced her to name brand clothes, shoes, and other luxuries that her parents couldn’t afford.

“She is a freak and I like the fact that she’s down for anything.” Freddy said to me.

“So she does what you want sexually in exchange you buy her expensive s**t? I’m pretty sure that is a level of prostitution.” I said to my brother. Freddy just laughed. That’s when I knew that this arrangement was going to cause us problems.

We went off to the city for college and she remained at home, claiming to be waiting for Freddy but the rumors proved her to be a liar. When we turned twenty-one five years ago, he decided to marry her even though she was a well-known slut.

Thank goodness female wolves can’t get pregnant if it’s not their fated mate, if not, Freddy would have had at least five kids to take care of. Even now, their marriage is very open and we all know it. She didn’t hesitate to f**k other guys even in our pack.

Then my phone started ringing, it was Kali. My heart started beating fast. I was so excited to see her again.

“We are on the second floor.” I said to her.

“I will follow your scent.” Kali said before hanging up. I hope Freddy doesn’t do anything to f**k it up. I heard that being rejected by your mate is the most painful thing in the world.

Then out of nowhere, Kali opened the passenger door across from me. She had on a long black dress that had slit all the way up to her hips and a pair of black shoes to go with it. Her hair was up in a bun. I couldn’t help but get turned on as she got in.

“Sorry, it’s that you look so beautiful. I can’t help but get turned on.” I said to her. She sat across from me with an open space between us. The driver got us out of the garage as we headed to the restaurant. She would not look at me, she kept staring out the window. I couldn’t help myself and placed my hand on hers. The sparks we felt made her turn her head and she smiled.

“The Rogue Golden Wolf of North America.” I said to her.

“Yes. I plan to remain a rogue too.” Kali said as she looked out the window again. My wolf didn’t like this answer.

“Why? We heard about your father. How you killed him and let your little brother take over the pack. Is it because you are half witch?”

“Maybe. I was raised by one and my solitude has never bothered me.” Kali said.

“I just want to love you beautiful. I don’t want to change your life around now. But I have to be honest with you, I was married and we are almost done finalizing our divorce. She found her mate.” I said to her.

“What about your brother? I picked up on the scent of a destructive omega female on him.” Kali said. The way her witch abilities work with her wolf are amazing.

“That is something you will have to talk to him about. I can only speak for me. I truly want to get to know you.” I said to her smiling. She turned to look at me and pulled her hand away.

“f**k she is a tuff one.” Ronny, my wolf said. I couldn’t help but smile.

“I know I will win her over.” I said to him. It took us twenty minutes to get to the restaurant. I got out first to get the door for her. Her scent drives Ronny into a frenzy as she gets out and walks towards the front of the restaurant. I follow her to talk to the Host.

“Good evening Mr. Bare. Your brother has closed off the VIP section. He is waiting for you.” Greg said as he held the door open. Kali rolled her eyes as she walked next to me. I wanted to hold her hand but she was so stubborn.

Kali stopped in her tracks when she saw the red rose petals on the floor in front of the door that leads into the VIP section. I looked over to her as I held the door open for her. “It’s okay, we are not going to force ourselves on you.” I said to her as I extended my hand to her. I watched her take a deep breath and she grabbed my hand.

“Welcome beautiful.” Freddy said happily. The room was being lit by candles. There were red and white roses in vases on the surrounding tables. He pulled out her chair and I led her to sit down. Then Freddy leaned in to kiss her on the cheek. I couldn’t help but feel jealous.

“I had the chef make your favorite dish.” Freddy said as he sat across from her. She was looking around the room admiring the beautiful setting Freddy put together for her.

“These flowers are from upstate.” She said as she smelled the roses.

“Yes. I had them brought in from our pack’s garden.” Freddy said. Then five waiters walked in to bring in our dinner. They put the dishes in front of me as Kali moved the vase full of flowers off the table.

“Your gardener may be great with the earth. These flowers are award winning.” She said.

“You have a great nose.” I said to her.
