VIRGINITY LOST 1 "Please always make sure you behave well, read your books and study hard. Never follow bad friends so that they will not miss lead you and remember know the family you are from". These we're the words of cynthia's mother, a widow who last her husband so many years ago. Cynthia was a very intelligent girl with a brighter future. She just got admission to university of calabar(UNICAL) to pursue after her dream profession of becoming a lawyer. Her arrival to the school wasn't an easy one, because her mother almost sold everything she had just to see that she was enrolled in university. Few months later, she made friends only those that were good behaviored. Most of the lectures love her performance in exams except one. Mr David, he planned never to pass her in his own papers. He would often demand s*x from her in order for her to pass his exams but Cynthia will always turn him town. Cynthia came to be friends with a girl in the campus named precious. Precious is also an intelligent girl but her way of life was so bad that even the blind can see it. Almost all the male lectures have slept with her because she doesn't have time to study her books rather she spends quality time in partying. Cynthia at first never liked precious pattern of living but since she started giving her some gifts and some stuff, she became close to her. Mr David wanted to get Cynthia through Precious. He already discussed with precious to her him have Cynthia. Cynthia always refuse such words whenever they comes out from precious. "Am a virgin and I will never do such a thing with an old man with wife and children, I promise my mother I will remain like till I get married ". This always say. Precious will always laugh at her but will never make it to annoy Cynthia. Precious used her influence in the school to make sure that Mr David stopped disturbing Cynthia. One afternoon, during lectures Cynthia noticed someone was starring. She looked at him, he smiled and she smiled. VIRGINITY LOST 2 She turned and looked at him, he smiled and she smiled back at him and so it continues. After lectures, he came to her and introduced himself. "My name is Adam Richards". He said. And Cynthia also introduced herself. And from that day, they came in touch with each other. One lovely day, precious wanted Cynthia to come with her to a party that weekend, but she refused to go. So precious left angrily and partied all by herself. Precious didn't talk to Cynthia for some days until Cynthia came an apologize to her. Because she have grown to close with her. Their examination was fast approaching so Cynthia have to study hard so that she could pass her exams, precious on the other hand will only make gest of her. One evening, precious came to Cynthia and was telling her about a party coming up soon, that she will like Cynthia to come with her. But Cynthia wanted to use the forth coming exam as an excuse but precious cut her short by saying she will handle it for her. The D-day came. They dressed and left for the party. When they got there, it was a great party filled with big shots in town. Cynthia was following precious like a lost sheep. She walk straight to a group of men and sat on a seat close to one of the big shots in the party. "Come on Cynthia, take a seat don't be naive"she said. Cynthia foolishly sat down. They drank and danced all night. Then the all left with their girls to their different hotel rooms. Cynthia, who was already drunk was taken by Mr. Darlington to his hotel room. When the got there, Cynthia though she was drunk managed to struggle herself out but Mr. Darlington overpowered her and slept with her.. When she woke up, she was shocked to see herself on the bed with a man. She looked around and the place didn't look familiar to her. She looked at herself and burst in tears.. "Ohh.. I have been disvirgined "she said with tears. VIRGINITY LOST 3 "Ohsaid God I have been disvirgined "she said. She left even before Mr Darlington could wait and before precious could come calling. She went back to school looking pale and less focus.yes precious fulfilled her promise and Cynthia passed her exam. After the exam, she travelled down to her house and stayed with her mother for some weeks before going back to school. When she got to school, Richard was the first person she saw was Richard. They talked as the got to a spot before departing to their different department. Ever since that encounter with Mr Darlington, Cynthia have not said anything to precious. She have been avoiding her since then. One evening, they bumped to each other at the school canteen, Cynthia snubbed precious before she could say a word. Precious kept begging her but she kept dump to her. It was so until got her a phone. One afternoon, Cynthia and Richard was having a fun time together. Richard told Cynthia that he would like her to accompany him to his house within the state that his father just came back from a business trip and is requesting for his presence. At first, Cynthia refused to go with him. Then Richard made it clear to her that his intentions are clear towards her.then she accepted to go with him. The next day, they left, few minutes later they got to Richard's house. They came in and Richard started calling for his father. He went up stairs and called him then came down stairs. Few minutes later, Richard's dad came down stairs. Cynthia couldn't believe her eyes. "You "she said. Richard was a bit confused."Cynthia have you mate my dad before "he said.Cynthia couldn't say a word. "Meet Mr Darlington Adams, my dad"he said.Cynthia could behold his sight, she stood up and left angrily without saying a word to Richard. To be continued. VIRGINITY LOST 4 She left angrily without saying a word to Richard. Richard ran after her but couldn't catch up to her. He came back and asked his dad but he gave him no response. He then left and went back to school. When he got to the school, he went straight to Cynthia's hostel but she was not there. Cynthia was in her quite place still in shock of who She just saw. She was still there when precious walked up to her. "What's the problem, you look pale? "She asked. Ad first Cynthia couldn't give her a straight answer but later told her out of persuasion. Precious help her to calm her nerves. Richard came to her the next day and was trying to know why she acted strangely yesterday at his house. She lied to him and told him another thing. Richard and Cynthia are really coming closer that one will think that they are dating. They both are always together both in lecture and out of class. Cynthia became I'll. The she battled with the symptoms for some weeks. It was noticeable to people that she the kept asking her what's wrong. Richard decided to take her to a hospital for check up. After the check up, the doctor told them to come back in two days time for the result. That day came and Cynthia went without Richard. "Good afternoon ma"the doctor said. "Good afternoon doctor "she replied. The doctor opened a file and brought an envelope. "From the test conducted on you congratulations ma you are two months pregnant "the doctor said with smiles on her face. "What? " Cynthia shouted with her eyes wide open. VIRGINITY LOST 5 (GRAND FINALE) "What? "She said with her eyes wide opened. She was a kind of confused without putting her mind straight. She left and went back to school. When she got there, Richard was only waiting for her at her door. "Where have you been I have been looking for you for the past few hours, we are suppose to go for the test results today "he said.she looked at him and went in her room and shot the door behind him. Richard knocked for many minutes but she didn't open the door, so he left. Cynthia was inside for some times now without been seen by anyone. Even precious was worried also. One afternoon precious came to her hostel and knocked at her door for minutes until Cynthia opened the door and she came in. "What's wrong with you Cynthia? No one have seen you lately "se she asked. "Nothing I just want to be left alone pls "she answered. ""Come on Cynthia am your friend what is it with you? "She asked again with aggression in her voice. Cynthia brought out am envelope and gave it ti her. "What you are pregnant , for who? "Precious asked. "For Mr Darlington Adams, Richard's dad". Cynthia answered. Precious eyes was wide open knowing fully well that they both are in serious trouble."what will you do about it now? "Precious asked. "I don't know yet am a bit confused and don't know how to face my mother now "she said almost crying."is Mr Darlington aware you are carrying his child "precious asked."no you are the only one that knows for now ". "You are not keeping it"precious said and left. Cynthia didn' know what to do She taught of what precious said and decide to give it a try. Precious told her of a specialist that is good in abortion. The booked a section and left that evening,. The abortion wasn't an easy one. Cynthia died in the process. They news of her death spread round the school. When Richard heard he couldn't believe his ears. Cynthia's mother is not aware of any of these. Richard saw precious few days after the news came to their school.
