Chapter Two

338 Words
The day dragged slow for Ann. Her mind constantly going over the events with Clavin. She could not understand why she couldn't get him out of her mind. Just as she sat down to get something to eat at the college cafe her boyfriend Manny text her. "Hey baby how was class?" He messaged. "It was okay." Ann responded. She put her phone in her bag feeling guilty that she has not thought of Manny all day. "Is this seat taken?" Ann hears a deep voice in front of her. She looks up to see the same man that's been running through her head all day. "Umm no of course not. Please sit." Ann responds. "Why are you sitting alone?" Clavin ask Ann who is looking down at the table. "All my friends are still in lectures. Usually I would go straight home and get ready for work." Ann started blabbering. Clavin just stared at her for a minute with a serious face before he smiled. That smile made Ann's stomach burst into butterflies. "Working while still in college? Do you ever go out or anything?" Clavin asks. "No, not really. I prefer to work and support myself instead of asking my parents. Going out really isn't my thing anyways." Ann responds with a scowl. "What is your thing then?" Clavin asked her. She just sat there for a minute. Not exactly sure how to respond to that question. Thankfully she didn't have to as her foot was done and the girl at the counter announced her number. "That's my number. I'll uh see you around." Ann said as she got up and left. She still wasn't sure what she would have said to Clavin. What is her thing? What does she like to do when she is not busy with school or work? Clavin made her start questioning her life. How can she not answer such a simple question and was it time to start trying things she wasn't sure about? Ann didn't know what to do.
