Zara braced. the attack could come anytime. If this new assailant was anything like any of the two she just faced then she didn’t have to worry about him using a silver weapon.
Just some very painful steel.
“What the hell happened here?” Zara heard the voice and recognized it before she smelt his scent.
Joel knew exactly what had happened there. In fact, it was all orchestrated by him and, to his disappointment, it had failed, once again.
