POWER

I watched as my father dismissed the bullies, and they were led out of the room by the warriors. As the door closed behind them, I could feel my anger starting to rise again. "Are you okay, Eleanor?" my father asked, turning to me. "Father," I began, my voice quivering with rage. "Johnny and I were robbed in the forest by a gang of ruthless thugs. They took everything we had - our money, our jewelry, even our food. We barely escaped with our lives." My father looked down at me, his expression unreadable. "And what do you expect me to do about it, Pumpkin?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous. "I expect you to do your duty as the Alpha King and protect your people," I spat. "I expect you to send out your soldiers and hunt down these criminals. I expect you to bring me justice!" My father sighed heavily and rubbed his temples, as if he had a headache. "Darling, you must understand that I have a lot on my plate right now. The neighboring packs are becoming more aggressive, and I must prepare for war. I cannot spare the resources to go after a group of petty thieves." I felt a hot surge of frustration and disappointment. "So that's it? You're just going to let them get away with it? You're just going to ignore my pain and suffering?" "I never said that, Pumpkin," my father replied, his tone softening slightly. "I will make it up to you. I will buy you new jewelry, more beautiful than anything you've ever seen. I will make sure that you are taken care of." I felt a wave of nausea wash over me. Was that all he cared about? His reputation, his wealth, his power? Did he not care about his own daughter? "I don't want your jewelry, Father," I said, my voice cold and distant. "I want justice. I want to feel safe. I want to know that you care about me." My father's face hardened, and I could see the anger in his eyes. "You will not speak to me like that, Eleanor," he growled. "I am your father, and I demand your respect." I stood my ground, my own anger rising to match his. "Respect is earned, Father," I said. "And right now, you have not earned mine." With that, I turned and stormed out of his office, my heart heavy with disappointment and frustration. I knew that I could not rely on my father for protection - I would have to take matters into my own hands. AMON’S POV I stood next to the tall oak tree, feeling the morning breeze gently brush against my skin. My guardian, Oscar, stood beside me, his eyes scanning the forest for any signs of danger. "Where to next, Amon?" Oscar asked, his voice low and even. I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, my mind already racing with possibilities. "I'm thinking we hit the rich folks in town. They always seem to have the best stuff." Oscar nodded in agreement, his eyes never leaving the surrounding trees. "Sounds like a plan. We'll need to be careful, though. They'll have guards and alarms to contend with." As we talked, I suddenly caught sight of a figure in the distance. I squinted, trying to make out who it was. As the figure drew closer, I recognized her as Eleanor, my cousin, the daughter of the man who had taken everything from me. I perched on the top of the old oak tree, my whistle echoing across the forest. Gwen responded through our shared mind link, confirming that our target was nearby. I scanned the area, searching for any sign of Eleanor, the daughter of the pack leader whose territory we had infiltrated. My heart raced as I spotted her standing near the tree where I was hiding. She was a fierce warrior, known for her strength and determination. I knew that if I was caught, I would be in for a fight. Suddenly, Eleanor turned and looked up at my hiding spot. I froze, unsure if she had spotted me. But then, to my surprise, she called out to me. "Hey! Asshole, what are you doing here?" she demanded. I adjusted my mask, trying to hide my surprise. "Just enjoying the view," I replied casually. But Eleanor was not fooled. "I know what you're up to," she said, her eyes narrowing. "You and your thugs are here to rob me again, aren't you?" I didn't respond, but I knew that she was right. My team and I wanted to steal from her, and we had already succeeded once before. As I hesitated, Gwen and the rest of the gang appeared, surrounding Eleanor. "You're not gonna mess with us anymore, right?" Gwen sneered at Eleanor. Eleanor glared back, "You can't just do whatever you want to people and not expect consequences." The rest of the gang laughed, taunting her. "You and what army?" one of them sneered. I watched as they roughed her up, taking pleasure in her anger and frustration. As they prepared to leave, Eleanor turned to me and my team, "I'll make sure you all pay for this!" I didn't reply to her threats. Instead, I simply jumped down from the tree and fled with my fellow thieves, eager to escape before Eleanor could catch up to us. As we ran through the forest, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. I knew that what we were doing was wrong, but the money was too good to resist. Maybe one day I would find a way out of this life, but for now, I was stuck in a cycle of crime and deceit. As we walked through the dark alleyways, memories of my past flooded my mind. The damp and musty smell of the streets brought me back to the time when I was just a little pup. I remember how I struggled to feed myself, and how I begged on the streets for scraps of food. But no one would help me. "Please, sir, can you spare some change?" I remember my little voice echoing through the empty streets, but no one answered. I had to resort to stealing to survive, and soon I became known as the Lord of the streets. It wasn't something I was proud of, but it was necessary for me to survive. As I continued to walk, I found myself in front of the tree where my parents had been killed. The memories came flooding back, and I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of sadness and anger. I still remember the night my parents were killed like it was yesterday. The moon was full and bright, casting an eerie glow across the forest floor. The air was thick with the scent of blood and fear.
