Anastasia’s POV.
I quickly scurried into the hospital ignoring the numerous looks thrown my way.
“Please I’m looking for Mr Grey.” I rushed out in ragged breaths.
The receptionist took an odd look at me, I could see her already judging me but I didn't care.
“Uhm, who are you?” She shot at me with a look of disgust on her face.
“He is my grandfather” I hissed through my teeth as I glared at her. I was in no mood for her tantrums. Realisation dawned on her and she quickly directed me to his room.
“He is on the last floor, a private-”
I didn't let her finish before I ran as fast as I could. I noticed a crowd of people in the elevator and I knew I could not wait in line. I quickly dashed up the stairs.
“Im asking of Mr Grey, I am his granddaughter and I was directed here.” Panting, I asked the nurse I saw once I got to the last floor.
She looked at me with a sad look and asked me to follow her.
Immediately I opened the door to the room, everything felt wrong. No one was inside and the bed was just white. It didn't look like anyone had been there recently.
“Uhm, excuse me, I don't think this is the correct room,” I said turning to the nurse.
“I was met by a man instead. He looked like the doctor and seemed to be in his mid-thirties. He was handsome but didn't come close to Jared. I wanted to slap myself for still thinking about him after all he did to me.
“Hello,” he interrupted me from my thoughts.
I was quickly brought back to earth and I remembered the situation I was in.
“Where is he?” I asked him immediately, wanting to forget about the awkward moment.
Immediately, his face fell flat. He was looking at me with pity and I could sense he was about to deliver bad news.
“Well, Miss Grey or should I rather say Mrs Sinclair, Your grandfather passed away during the operation. Im so sorry,” he informed me carefully.
I couldn't breathe.
Dead?
Operation?
He has been fine recently…
I immediately fell flat to the floor and broke down.
“No, no, nooooooo. This cant be truly happening.’’ I sobbed uncontrollably.
How could he leave me in this wicked world? He was the only one I had left since my parents died in the car crash leaving me as the only survivor of the accident. Where was I supposed to go now? I couldn't believe it. I wanted to see him, I have many questions for him, he couldn't just go like that. What happened to him all of a sudden?
“Doc-t-or, What happened to him? He was very fine the last time I spoke with him which was a few days ago” I hiccuped as I searched his face for any clue.
“My condolences first of all.”
“Your grandfather had a coronary artery disease, he was aware of it but refused any treatment. He collapsed at his home today and was immediately rushed here. He was immediately taken into the ICU for an operation but he was confirmed dead a few minutes into the procedure. Im sorry we couldn't save him. We tried calling your uncle but he denied having any relationship with him” He tried consoling me.
“Wow.” I was stunned.
Why didn't he tell me? Was I not worth being told? Didn't he love me? I was beginning to question everything, my whole life has taken a spin in less than 24 hours.
“I will bring some documents for you to sign soon, im sorry once again for your loss.” The doctor spoke and walked out of the room.
I just stared at the door, wondering who I had offended. How could they take my grandfather away from me? Knowing he was the only person I had left. I didn't deserve any of this.
As I drowned myself in tears, the sound of my ringtone alerted me. I quickly picked up the call hoping it wasn't any more bad news, i was tired and drained.
“Hello?” I steadied myself.
“Yes hello, am I speaking with Miss Grey?”
“Yes, how can I help you?” I asked frantically as I remembered that was the exact way I got the bad news about my grandfather.
“Well, I’m Sam, your grandfather’s lawyer.” He informed me and I tensed.
“Im sorry about your grandfather’s death but im afraid I'm here to deliver more bad news.” I hadn't even heard the news but tears had started streaming down my face. I felt like the worst person on earth. What had I done to deserve all this?’
“Miss?” Sam tried confirming if I was still on the line. I’m sure he could hear my sobs.
“What do you have to say?” I asked wanting to get it over with as soon as possible.
“The bank has seized your grandfather’s properties including that of your late father. Every single one of them.” He told me.
“What? Why?’’ I screamed.
“He was in a huge amount of debt and immediately they heard about his death, they took over everything. I’m so sorry ma’am. There’s nothing I can do. My condolences,” Sam confirmed all my worries and dropped the call.
I could feel my eyelids closing and footsteps getting closer but before I could understand what was going on, everything turned dark.

“She could be awake anytime soon, make sure she takes her drugs. She’s been under a lot of stress lately and it could affect them.”
“Alright, sir.”
“Drugs?
“Them?
“Where was I?
I could hear voices as I struggled to open my eyes.
I tried to clear my throat and this alerted them. I was quickly given water, I quickly drank it and took in my surroundings. Immediately, everything came flashing back. It was like a bucket of ice was dumped on my head.
“How are you feeling now?” The doctor asked, smiling at me. Why was he smiling?
“I’m okay,” I replied choosing my words carefully.
“How did I get here?” I asked him.
“You fainted in the hallway but don't worry, your babies are fine.” He spoke with a wider smile.
“Babies?” I froze wondering what on earth he was talking about.
He seemed to acknowledge my confusion as realization dawned on him.
"Oh, it seems you are not aware.” He said with his lips firm, the smile had disappeared.
“I am scared now. What was he talking about? I wasn't pregnant.
“Congratulations miss, you are two months pregnant.” He said with a bright smile.
I immediately sat up, searching for any trace of a joke on his face. I couldn't find any.
“No, No, Noooooo!. I shouted, shaking my head vigorously.
