4 Sling Oh, how Rex wanted Stella to still be alive. He knew she would have loved Morris more than anything else in her life, just as Rex loved him and would, within reason, do anything for him. But Stella was gone. Rex had already faced that fact, though he had not had time to grieve for her. He also did not understand that he needed to grieve for her. To Rex, life events were simply that: things that happened. It was not up to him to lament their occurrences or to wail about the injustice of it all. Of course there was injustice. In Rex’s view, that was a natural consequence of having justice.
