Weeks passed and I hadn’t heard anything from Nick. The first few days, it was completely maddening, because I ended up texting him to see how he was doing and never received a response. I was tempted so many times to reach out to him again, but refrained from doing so. I could only imagine he was trying to fix the damage he had caused. He was probably under the impression I didn’t want anything to do with him after I told him I didn’t love him.
The thing was that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was missing him like crazy. I kept wondering if he would randomly stop by my apartment or walk into the bakery to see me, but he didn’t.
