Revenge Proposal

The Silvercrest Pack was unusually quiet that afternoon. The wind moved gently through the tall trees, carrying the scent of pine and earth. Kiara walked along the stone path leading to the Alpha’s residence, her steps slow but steady. Her heart beat faster with every step she took closer to Alpha Daniel’s chambers. Why would he summon me now? she wondered. Her training had been intense—physically, mentally, emotionally. Every day had pushed her closer to her limits, and every night she fell asleep exhausted but stronger than the day before. “Stay alert,” Aria, her wolf, murmured inside her mind. “An Alpha does nothing without reason.” Kiara stopped in front of the large wooden doors carved with ancient symbols of leadership. Two guards nodded respectfully and stepped aside. She took a breath and knocked. “Enter,” Alpha Daniel’s deep voice came from inside. The room was warm and dimly lit, candles glowing softly against stone walls. Bookshelves lined one side of the chamber, filled with old records and pack histories. Alpha Daniel stood near a large desk, his hands clasped behind his back. He turned as she entered. “Kiara,” he said calmly. “Come in.” She stepped inside and bowed slightly. “Alpha Daniel, you summoned me?” “Yes,” he replied. He gestured toward a chair across from him. “Sit.” She hesitated for only a second before sitting, her posture straight, hands resting lightly on her knees. She kept her gaze respectful but steady. Alpha Daniel studied her quietly, his sharp eyes missing nothing. She had changed—he could see it clearly now. The timid girl who had arrived at his borders was gone. In her place sat a young woman with quiet strength and burning purpose. “I wanted to inform you,” he began, “that your training… has reached its end.” Kiara blinked. “The end?” she repeated softly. “Yes,” he said. “You have learned what this pack can teach you.” Her chest tightened with emotion. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say. Then she stood and bowed deeply. “Thank you so much, Alpha,” she said sincerely. “For giving me a chance. For protecting me. For everything.” Alpha Daniel inclined his head. “You earned it.” Silence settled between them for a moment before he spoke again. “So,” he said, leaning slightly against the desk, “what are your plans now?” Kiara hesitated. Aria’s voice stirred gently. “This is the moment. Speak your truth.” Kiara lifted her eyes. “Honestly, Alpha… I don’t know what comes next.” He waited. “But one thing I do know,” she continued, her voice growing firmer, “is that I want my revenge.” The air shifted. Alpha Daniel’s eyes darkened—not with surprise, but with recognition. “That,” he said slowly, “is exactly why I called you here.” Kiara frowned slightly. “You have a plan?” “Yes,” he replied. Her heart thudded harder. “What could that be, Alpha?” Alpha Daniel stepped closer, his presence calm but commanding. “Date me,” he said simply. “And I will help you get your revenge.” The words hit her like a slap. “What?” Kiara shot to her feet, shock flashing across her face. “I’m sorry, Alpha, but I can’t date you.” For a split second, the room was tense. Then— “Hahahaha.” Alpha Daniel laughed. The sound was deep and unexpected, echoing through the chamber. Kiara stared at him, confused. “Why… why are you laughing, Alpha?” He waved a hand lightly. “When I said ‘date me,’ I did not mean it the way you think.” She slowly sat back down, wary. “I haven’t found my mate,” Alpha Daniel continued calmly. “And you were rejected by yours.” Her jaw tightened at the reminder. “If you truly want revenge on Alpha Leon Blackthorn,” he said, “then pretend to be my chosen mate.” Kiara’s breath caught. “Pretend?” she whispered. “Yes,” he said firmly. “Appear by my side. Walk with me. Let the world believe you are under my protection.” Her heart raced. “And how does that help me?” Alpha Daniel’s eyes sharpened. “Because Alpha Leon will see you again. Alive. Strong. Untouchable. And standing beside another Alpha.” Kiara swallowed hard. “He will feel it,” Alpha Daniel continued. “In his pride. In his authority. In his regret.” Silence stretched. “Oh…” Kiara breathed. Aria nearly purred in excitement. “Oh, I love this.” Kiara rubbed her temple. “Alright,” she said slowly. “So how are we going to work on this plan?” Alpha Daniel turned toward his desk and picked up two items—a red velvet box and a shopping bag. “For this to work,” he said, handing them to her, “you need to know me. And I need to know you.” She accepted them carefully. “Wear these,” he instructed. “We’re going on a date this evening.” Her eyes widened. “Tonight?” “Yes,” he said. “We start immediately.” “And your first public appearance,” he continued, “will be next week at the Alpha General Meeting.” Kiara froze. “You’ll attend with me,” he added. “As my date.” Her pulse thundered in her ears. “And know this,” Alpha Daniel said calmly, “you will meet Alpha Leon there.” Her fingers tightened around the box. “He will be there,” Alpha Daniel finished, “with Seraphina.” The room seemed to tilt. Kiara forced herself to breathe. “Thank you, Alpha,” she said quietly. “If that’s all, I’ll take my leave.” He nodded. “Prepare yourself.” Kiara turned and walked out, her legs trembling only once the doors closed behind her. Outside, the cool air hit her flushed face. “Wow,” Aria said brightly. “Alpha Daniel is very smart. I love this plan.” Kiara sighed. “Must you always say something? Can’t you just stay quiet for once?” “Why should I?” Aria snapped playfully. “If you don’t like how I talk, tell the Moon Goddess to find you another wolf.” “No way,” Kiara laughed softly. But her smile faded as the weight of everything settled. “I still don’t understand,” Kiara murmured, walking slowly toward her cabin. “Why is Alpha Daniel so interested in helping me?” “Maybe he likes you,” Aria teased. “No,” Kiara replied thoughtfully. “Maybe he has his own grudge against Alpha Leon.” “Maybe,” Aria said. “But what matters is that we get our revenge.” Kiara nodded slowly. “Yes,” she whispered. “What matters… is that we finally face them.” Her steps slowed as the reality hit her fully. Next week. She would stand in the same room as Alpha Leon Blackthorn. Alive.
