I woke up to nightmares, James was on patrol so I had to comfort myself. It took a few moments to control my breathing as I hugged his pillow, breathing in his scent tryingnto calm myself. It was hard being a human in a wolf's world, but I had adjusted pretty well. The long patrol nights were hardest.
I checked on Tristan, he seemed to sleep better since the Luna arrived, it was a blessing. He had nightmares too, but he never talked about them and would never let me comfort him when he did. He was different than all the other children, and I wasn't sure how to help him. The pack doctor had thrown the word "autism" around a few times, but I wasnt sure that's what it was, and his therapy certainly wasn't helping.
