Take a walk you turnip.

***Unknown POV*** Fucking Canada. I hated the cold. I didn't want to be here but business is business and that was just about the only thing that got my big ass out of California. Alpha Zabel and my father, the former Alpha had a deal that had expired and I was there to renew it. My pack was larger than his by far. The Obsidian Moon pack was triple the size, and I had a longstanding reputation as being fierce and protective of my pack and assets. The only thing that stood in my way was a rival pack that was also at the celebration, trying to snake my lumber business from Zabel, but so far he seemed to want to at least hear my new terms before agreeing to their new deal. This infuriated them. They sent two thugs to the party to intimidate me from what my ears in Canada said, and that sounded like a fun night for me. My meeting with Zabel was after the celebration tonight, at midnight in his office. Strange timing, but at this point I didn't care and just wanted to be able to leave in the morning. We pulled up to the pack house and as soon as I stepped out of the car I smelled it. It smelled like wild honey and fresh blackberries. "Mate!" My wolf screamed in my head. "What?" I questioned my wolf Zane. "Mate! She's here! I can feel her!" I looked at my beta, James. We'd been best friends since diapers and he saw my change. "Whats up boss?" He asked. "She's here." My eyes went black and he knew who I meant. Now, to find her. I couldn't just go trampling through the pack house like I owned the place. I had to have some couth, even though Zane was howling like mad and wanted to hunt her down. Alpha Zabel and Luna Ivy met me at the porch huge stone porch, Zabel extending his arms to me. "Alpha Kaid!" I embraced him and then I nodded at the Luna and they showed me inside. It was a decent sized pack house, not as big as mine, and more modern, like it was recently built. It had four floors and balconies speckled everywhere, and the terrace wrapped around the entire front and around the back to what I presume is a garden at some point when it's not freezing as hell. The inside was overdone, like the Luna was trying too hard to be Martha Stewart. Then I got an idea. "Luna, your pack house is so beautifully decorated, you have exquisite taste." The stone woman instantly softened and thanked me coyly, flipping her short hair. "Would you mind terribly giving me a tour, it would be an absolute honor." Of course the vain woman said yes and she began showing me every room starting with the top floor and working our way down. There was no scent of honey and blackberries on the top floor, so my mate couldn't have held rank. I didn't care. I just wanted to find her. We made our way to the fourth floor, no sign of her there, or the third. I stood pretending to give a s**t about the gaudy gold foil wallpaper and mass produced stone sculptures. The second floor held her scent faintly, near the Alpha office, but then I only found it again in the kitchen. The Omega cook faintly smelled like her when she handed me a blueberry muffin I caught it briefly, but certainly was not her. She smelled like fresh bread and mint tea. "Where is she?!" Zane yelled in my head. "I don't know, I'm looking." I answered him. Zabel suddenly ushered me to a guest room back on the fifth floor next to his suite, James staying in the room beside mine. He excused himself, and told me he looked forward to our meeting that evening and seeing me at the celebration. It was a nice room. A king-sized bed with dark blue bedding was by the window, and it had an attached bathroom and sitting area. It was once again overdone, but not nearly as bad as the common areas. The celebration tonight should be awful, filled with tramps trying to find their mates. The celebration, maybe I'd see her there. I rested briefly and took a shower. Zane was going crazy in my head. "Take a walk you f*****g turnip." He said. "Calm down d**k, she's not in the house." I responded. "Then look outside. She's here. I can feel her. She needs us." He said. "What do you mean she needs us?" I asked him. "Get off your ass and go find her. She needs us." I was on my feet in a moment, my wolf had part control and jolted me up. Grabbing my coat as I walked out of the room, I quickly made it to the bottom of the stairs. I walked to the kitchen and caught her scent again, following it outside and was hit with the cold right in the face. f*****g Canada. I pulled my coat close and sniffed the air. I could still smell it, the most delicious scent I'd ever smelled and my mouth watered as Zane howled. "She's close!" He roared. I followed the scent, and realized I was walking up to a stone cottage. The chimney smoked, and the little guard tower was connected. A wolf stood guard and looked tense as I walked up. "I'm sorry Alpha, but no one is allowed here." The scent was strong, and I barely heard what he said to me. "Open the door." I said not looking at him, but at the door in front of me. It was massive and made of metal probably six inches thick. "I cannot." He said. "Open the door!" My alpha voice boomed. He shrank under my command and I grabbed his shirt front. "Even if I wanted to alpha, the door will not open until tomorrow at sunrise." He quivered. "Who is in there?" I demanded. Just as he was about to answer, the most beautiful voice came over the intercom, "Adam? Are you alright? I heard a commotion." "Who is that?" I demanded. "The alphas daughter. I have to answer her. She might worry and hurt herself. Please." I let go of his shirt and he scrambled to the intercom button. "It's ok Bella Boo, you just have a visitor." He said soothingly. The intercom buzzed again, "I'm sorry whoever you are, please come back tomorrow when it's safer, I'm already locked away for the night. Thank you." And it went silent. I scrambled to the button, pushing the guard aside and pushing it, "Please madam, My name is Kaid Swift, may I just see you. Please come to the window. Please." I'd never begged before. I just had to see her. I stood in front of the thick glass window, a black-out curtain covering it. I waited for what seemed like forever when suddenly a tiny hand gripped the fabric and pulled it slowly aside. The most gorgeous creature I had ever seen was on the other side. She had long brown hair, and perfectly arched eyebrows over her dark brown almond shaped eyes that were stunning even though they were filled with sadness. She was small in frame but rather tall for a woman, and it looked like she had been athletic at some point, but now she was frail. I saw a tattoo of a Crescent moon that peaked out of her shirt on her collarbone. She had olive skin like Ivy, high cheekbones with a pointed chin and little nose, and full stunning dark red lips. We put our hands together on the glass at the same time. At the same time I said it, I saw her mouth the same word, "mate."
