Peter Lansdown followed his example. “What are you looking for?” he asked. “The crypt,” the Earl replied. “It is somewhere here.” “You think that Sorilda might have fallen into it by mistake?” Peter Lansdown asked tentatively. “But why? And what was she doing here in the first place?” The Earl did not answer, he was only looking amongst the bushes and then he gave an exclamation. “Here is the crypt,” he said. “But the doors are locked and bolted so she cannot be here.” He turned away and Peter Lansdown saw the disappointment in his expression. ‘He minds!
