CHAPTER 36 A HOT STEAMY NIGHT Loud music, cigarette smoke, and sweat surrounded her as Elena pushed and navigated her way through the flocking crowds in the nightclub. Disco balls and lights hung from the ceiling and a stage up ahead displayed a disc jockey steering a turntable while his head shook like a flying mosquito. Parts of the crowd moved in rhythm to the music while others held drinks or sat by tables in the least crowded corners of the room.
