SURPRISE OFFER
Stepping off the bus, Elena faced the town centre of Milan. Her eyes shot wide open as she gripped her leather clutch and made her way into the crowds. The smells of fresh coffee beans permeated the air, and the sounds of mopeds and car engines roared past her. Elena craned her neck to see the tall buildings, fascinated by the array of shops, mainly fashion stores, but also bookstores, cafes, and restaurants. It was adrenaline-pumping, and nothing like she’d ever seen before. There was nothing like this in her quiet little village.
